How lovely and I’m sure you will get lots of wear from them.
Knitting has had a massive revival worldwide. The Ravelry site will tell you how many millions are on their site worldwide. Crochet too is huge now especially with younger people.

We went for a seaside walk yesterday and I put on my handknitted socks and my feet were toasty warm. A few days ago I wore just supermarket socks and came home with freezing feet.

How refreshing to hear of your GD's generation taking up knitting. We need to revert to some of these occupations rather than be constantly consumed by technology. More power to their needles.
