Metallic thread

Can anyone recommend a metallic sewing thread that doesn’t ‘split’, please? It drives me mad, especially when trying to thread a needle. I inherited one, which was probably decades old, some time ago and, had I realised the problems the newer ones would present, I’d’ve taken more notice of the brand!

I assume you mean hand sewing?
If that’s the case thread a thin wire ( fuse wire?) through the eye of the needle.
Make a loop in the thread and pull loop through the needle eye.
