It's interesting that the contestants' best friends look so much like them! Likes attract.

With due respect I really hope that no one would confuse me with my best friend, much as I love her.

I have a friend of over 45 years and people often ask if we are sisters. We don’t necessarily look alike but our mannerisms are very similar.

Had Beth not made a mess of the pattern challenge then I think she would have won.
Esme always admires those who push the boundaries as she did herself during her Swanky Modes days.
Anna is extremely talented. Surely there must be a future for her in costume design.
I have watched Sewing Bee from its beginning but this one was the best yet. From the lovely contestants to the very knowledgeable judges and the best presenter.
On to Bake-Off now.

I did love the fact that the decision was so close - usually you really know who it’s going to be (same for Bake-off and Pottery Throwdown). The quality and style was really impressive in this series. Well done Sewing Bees!

We heard Emma singing in Edinburgh at the weekend with the National Youth Choir of Scotland and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. She was the soprano soloist in Carmina Burana and was excellent. The concert was recorded for Radio 3 but I'm not sure when it will be on.

The dress she was wearing for the concert and the one she wore before it were both attractive and colourful and presumably made by herself!

I enjoyed this series and I thought Sophie was a much better presenter.

I’ll be looking out for the next series!

I think it’s marvellous that we don’t get rumours about who has won when the series was made over a year ago, apparently.

At least, I’ve never seen or heard anything on SM or similar.

Sophie Willans baby Elijah was reported in the Manchester Evening News on the 1st December 2025.

Wikipedia shows the baby was born on 30 November.

It seems to take a while for Sewing Bee to reach the screen after filming.

"The presenters baby must have been born by now, I think."

Sophie's baby is about ten months old now.

It was obvious that Patrick favoured Anna regardless of the quality of her creations. He was quite tearful when he was praising her at the end of the programme. I liked her bow tie and cummerbund but I thought her beach transformation didn't hit the brief at all due to those cheesy pompoms. I was amazed when it came first. To be honest I didn't think any of the dresses were glamorous enough for the Met Gala but Beth's came closest to being spectacular. I have enjoyed this series very much. Roll on the next one. The presenters baby must have been born by now, I think.

Anna’s designs made me think a little of Vivienne Westwood. All those hitched up skirts and boning.
Beth’s Mets dress I thought fantastic, and a true original.

I loved this series very much and it's been the best for many years.

I also wanted Beth to win and much preferred her Met Gala dress. Anna was always the one that Patrick and Esme liked because of her creativity so no surprise that she won.

I thought Anna was a worthy winner and I hope she goes on to have a successful career in costume design.

I love to watch the "what happened next" reel at the end of the finals. I wonder if Beth will change careers or stick with engineering? One of the male contestants has started a clothing company - good for him.

Somehow it keeps being changed to make the meaning totally different.

Anna's designs were mostly unbearable but would be well suited to theatrical design. She has a bright future ahead of her. The beach club design did not fulfil the brief in my opinion. Beth's was better.

Beth's made to measure was beautifully sewn and classy, far and away the best.

Anna knew her bobble dress was below par - that's why she stuck the bobbles and flower on as a slightly desperate measure! - and she looked a bit surprised at winning that challenge!

I think Anna won because she hit the current design zeitgeist. Beth’s sewing is beautiful, and her clothes were more appealing to our age group, but Anna won out on imagination and originality. She made things that the hip young wear.

I agree about the bobbles/pom poms.

Thought they looked out of place, and expected that outfit to be rated last.

But what do I know?!!

Yes, think Anna’s Bohemian look appealed to Patrick very much!

I thiught that Anna's only really good offering was the bow tie and cummerbund.
Her transformation with the bobbles was poor and her winged gown was I thought not good ... the wiring was too visible and it looked like something from a panto!
Beth's transformation dress was a triumph .. it fitted the brief in a more subtle way and was perfectly sewn and fitted.
I think Patrick fancied Anna ... just saying!

It was a good final. Though Anna would win but I really hoped Beth would pull it off her dress was fabulous. Anna's looked like it belonged to Tinkerbell.
Poor Emma didn't really stand a chance up against those two amazing young women but she was excellent too.
Good series always enjoy it.

Beth and Anna are both wonderful seamstresses and I thought both Met dresses were beautiful well made and perfectly fit the brief.

The only mark between them last night was the error on the bow tie.

It was lovely to see how their creativity came out every week.

Emma was always going to be behind the other two but fully deserved her place in the final.

I thought Anna's dress looked a mess. Those wings looked weird as if they would fall off any moment and the wire in them was too light so that their shape was very uncertain. It looked more like something from the ;transformation round than the final piece de resistance.

I felt real shock when she, and not Beth won.

I thought Beth’s Rumplestiltskin dress was better than Anna’s, which looked a bit like a child’s fairy dress.

However, overall tonight Anna was the more successful, so deserved to win.

Emma was nowhere in it.

I think both Esme and Patrick had earmarked Anna as winner from day one.

I so wanted Beth to win. I liked Anna’s creations during the series buts felt that they became a bit predictable with wire and boning. You can see she wants to go into theatrical design. I loved Beth’s Made to Measure, just right for the MET gala. I was not keen on Anna’s transformation. A pity Beth’s pattern challenge let her down. I kept yelling at her that she has chosen the wrong material but she took no notice!
Still a very close final.

I am slightly unsure as to whether the right person won. There really was nothing at all to choose between two of them.
