Welcome Glennd I have just noticed that someone has been mentioning me and my adoptive dog Donald who had a slight singeing.... We haven't yet got to the "bottom " of the problem at a virtual party that was held ...no one assumed responsibility for Donald or for his damaged undercarriage,so he is mine by default....you don't have to be mad to post on here ..but it helps

Stepping forward as requested ! Now where's the beer.... (How many
Grandads is that?).

Welcome glendd, hope you find plenty to interest, amuse and entertain you on here. I recommend the 'this made me laugh' thread under 'chat'. Happy Gransnetting!

Welcome glennd flag another granddad, more the merrier. You don't have to restrict yourself to male topics, all input is good.

glennd Sat 02-Jun-12 16:44:19

Hello, I know this thread is a bit old but I thought I'd add my name if anyone is still interested.

Only joined the site today after hearing about it on Radio 4 last night - it was described as a 'social networking site for older people'.

I don't know if I'm what is expected from a grandad - usless at diy, don't own a shed, don't play golf....

But happy to talk about books, music, films, sport (not golf) and any issues of the day. And just being a grandad (with a 5 year old grandaughter who I don't see nearly enough of).

Many thanks kind Pompa,
Now I have the key.
I'll procure a jam and creamy cake,
We'll share it with our tea!

gramps Mon 21-May-12 23:40:29

I thought stout"as being strong / sturdy,
not in width or girth,
but as a person full of valour.
Grounded, down to earth!
Now doughty is a word that seldom have I heard,
But it sounds ok to me, so,
Therefore, let it be!

Anagram Mon 21-May-12 21:12:40

Of course he did! Hearts of oak and all that...
(Was only joking about the ungentlemanliness, Gramps!)

jeni Mon 21-May-12 21:04:53

No bother!smile any way I think he meant doughty?

Anagram Mon 21-May-12 20:42:27

Not very gentlemanly, that's all.
