Anyone any ideas the best way I can repair a tear in my garage felt roof, there is still a layer of felt underneath but a massive hole in the top layer.. Can't afford much, and definitely not a new roof!

Yes, I had the same problem winter before last. Wickes do a roof repair product that you paint on (very thickly). It contains some sort of fibre that bridges the split. I had a very large tear (2") where the wood underneath had expanded with the wet, I covered these wide gaps with stick on flash banding first then painted the sealer over, but I'm sure the sealer would be fine on it's own for up to 1/2" or so.

Thanks for that .. I will definitely pop to wickes and have a look. Will keep you posted.

Even if it was an advert it was helpful and I loved the optimism of "A repair is best made after a long period of dry weather has allowed any moisture in the roof felt to dry out."
