Too many to name just one. But 'The weight' by the Band has been a long time favourite.

Beyond the sea - Bobby Darin.
Secret Love - Kathy Kirby.
Both remind me of my lovely parents.

Mine - Black by Pearl Jam;
"I know someday you'll have a beautiful life
I know you'll be a star
In somebody else's sky
But why
Why
Why can't it be
Oh can't it be mine"
This part breaks my heart.

Release the Pressure- Leftfield.
(For dancing, wake up and go!)

For sentimental times when a good cry is appropriate it would be Redemption Song- Bob Marley.

‘Outward Bound’ by Tom Paxton is one of my favourites, kind of sad and nostalgic. I think I would like that at my funeral.

shysal Sat 11-Sep-21 12:31:55

'Don't want to miss a thing' by Aerosmith. Makes me cry every time I hear it!

Jane43 Sat 11-Sep-21 12:14:53

The Stereophonics also do a nice version of Handbags and Gladrags. My favourite is Cathy’s Clown by The Everly Brothers, it always reminds me of the year I left school and I equally love A Different Corner by George Michael. DH’s favourites are The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack and ‘Bring Him Home’ by Il Divo. Last Christmas I bought DH the CD of Roy Orbison with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The first track is In Dreams and it made us both cry so that is becoming a favourite too. Sorry I know it should be one but it’s too hard to choose one.

'As I love you' by Shirley Bassey.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 11-Sep-21 12:06:54

‘I’d rather go blind’ by Chicken Shack. Christine Perfect/McVee is the singer. Originally done by Etta James.

Start Me Up by the Rolling Stones, but it's a close call with so many songs, some rock, some classical.
