Oh Sook what a wonderful link. Thank you so much. I notice that the company do a Unicorn musical box. My granddaughter is obsessed with Unicorns. Her beloved pony died 2 years ago now and she believes he turned into a magical unicorn that flies over the sky and looks after her when she is asleep. Such beautiful boxes. smile

I bought my DGD a musical box for her christening gift. I chose the Owl and the Pussycat design it is delightful (imo), a lovely colourful design with four secret drawers, it opens up to reveal a tiny owl and pussycat in their pea green boat which revolves when the music (Canon Pachabel) is played. There are several designs to choose from and there is also a range of small trinket boxes available.

I had a silver and only cross designed and made for my Goddaughter. She liked chunky jewellery and I couldn't find any readymade

I like to give good hardback copies of children's class is books. The is one being advertised on here at the moment which I think would be good. It's by John Burningham.

You can write a little message on the flyleaf too.

Thanks so much for these great ideas. I like the idea of personalised jewellery. I remember my grandparents got me a gold necklace and disc with the details of my christening on. Sadly, it was stolen but still. And a wall clock is a lovely idea too. As long as I go for something quite plain and classy hopefully she'll use it even when she's grown up. Was also thinking a classic children's book and then she could read it to her kids one day too. Overly sentimental and just a little bit optimistic aren't I!?

How lovely. Depends on everyone's feelings but a Bible could be a possibility. Hope you have a lovely time.

It's my granddaughter's christening at the end of this month. She's almost 2 and I'd really like to get her a gift that she can keep. Does anybody have any suggestions? Not keen on the silver rattles or money boxes but other than that open to ideas?
