Evening all, a bit of a big ask, but please help if you can!

It's Mr P's birthday tomorrow, and I would like to send him an e card, as he has said that buying a card would be a bit frivolous under the current circumstances. (A couple of years ago I made him one by cutting letters out of newspapers, sticking them on to a piece of paper then laminating it, can't do that this year as I don't have access to a laminator)

I have started looking for free e cards, but there is far too much choice, and if I spend time trawling through them he is bound to eventually come up to the office and ask what I'm doing!

If anyone could spare the time to have a look and give me a shortlist, I would really, really appreciate it!

Thank you to any that can help!

Thanks glamma won't click on it just yet as himself is hovering around! (I don't mean that he is moving without his feet touching the floor, but he is in the immediate vicinity!)

Phoenix Can you not draw one. Did you do the drawing for the tea towel design?

Ariadne Sat 16-Nov-13 20:47:35

Bit cautious - I've heard that some of these companies make their money by selling on e mail addresses. Don't know whether it's trus, though.

wisewoman Sat 16-Nov-13 20:55:52

There is no such thing as a "free" anything on t'internet. Somebody wants your email address in return for giving you a card! I know I am cynical but I only started getting junk mail when I sent free ecards. I changed my email address and the junk stopped. I agree with Ariadne - be cautious.

Advice taken, Ariadne and wisewoman

Thank you.

Nellie Mr P did the tea towel drawing from my idea. (I was totally up front about that when we did the entry!)

jimpix.co.uk/ Here is one, which I have used in the past.

Nelliemoser Sun 17-Nov-13 22:55:58

phoenix I did enjoy your entry. I suspect though it might have been too up front or not "Grannyish" enough for the majority.
Some might prefer the idea that grannies really are sweet souls who wouldn't say boo to a geese.

Why on earth would it be frivolous to buy a birthday card?

Lona Sat 30-Nov-13 08:40:50

Why don't you just write him a funny/loving poem, and give him a big hug and kiss?
Better than a free ecard imo smile

Anne58 Sat 30-Nov-13 12:13:11

roses our current financial situation is why it would be frivolous!

Lona and others who suggested similar things, last year I cut letters out of the newspaper, stuck them on a piece of A4 and then laminated it!
