I've just realised that I send posts mostly in the mornings. It's a really difficult time for me as a widow living alone for the first time and connecting on Gransnet is very comforting - just knowing there are other Grans out there makes me feel less alone. By lunch time I feel better and by the evening I feel much calmer and not so isolated.

I post very irregularly and intermittent, I'm short of time Monday - Thursday when I have grandchildren duties so more likely to dip in Friday/Saturday.
I would like to be more frequent because it's obvious that some grans build strong relationships with each other and that's lovely.

Welcome Howitis and hello there*pompa*.
I post first thing in the morning, when I get back from work, and then I just dip in and out during the rest of the day when I have a few minutes spare. This is usually when I've put the hudl on to look for a recipe, or to look something up via Google. I am easily distracted as you can tell.

Welcome Howitis123a, hope you ejoy the various threads.
Spiritual matters, I'm your man, whiskey, brandy, gin etc. grin

You will soon learn that I don't always take things as seriously as some Gners. Sorry.

Philosophy, I would find interesting.

I usually have to wait until my grandson goes home. As I teach him in my house, I do not have the use of my computer most of the day.

Grandma2213 Thu 07-May-15 22:39:38

Late at night, usually after the grandchildren are in bed and jobs done ie tidying up and preparation for the next day. I then check in on FB, check emails, do internet groceries or other shopping, read news and google what I might need to know. Then I might pop in on Gransnet for a nosy! Since I was a child I've always been a night bird and amaze friends when I'm ready to party at midnight! Downside - I'm shocking at mornings. By the way, this is early evening to me!!

absent Thu 07-May-15 21:21:09

I almost always have a look at Gransnet first thing in the morning a) because I get up much earlier than Mr absent and tapping away on my computer in the office doesn't disturb him in the way that crashing about in the bathroom would and b) because it is one of the few times when Gransnetters in the UK are awake at the same time as I am i.e. early evening.

As baubles said, just how old and decrepit do you think we are, soontobe? grin

I don't have 'naps' and I certainly don't spend from 9.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. 'getting ready for bed'!

numberplease Thu 07-May-15 16:13:05

I`m very rarely online in the mornings, usually between 3 and 6pm, then gain from about 9pm till fairly late, with interruptions when jobs call.
A nap? What`s a nap?

AshTree Thu 07-May-15 14:09:18

I pop in on and off throughout the day if I'm home, otherwise just first thing in the morning and then again early evening.
Falconbird isn't the internet great? It must be so difficult for you, but there is this link to the outside world that is always here for you. It must have been much harder for earlier generations, the feeling of isolation. I'm glad GN helps you to start the day and to get through it feeling a lot calmer flowers

ninathenana Thu 07-May-15 13:53:01

Thanks jings smile

tanith Thu 07-May-15 11:52:31

I pop in and out whenever the fancy takes me so I can post anytime night or day. I've just finished hanging out the washing and picked up my laptop for a quick browse of a few sites I use including FB to see what the family are up to today.. I love how I'm in touch with everything thats going on with them and here of course.

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 07-May-15 11:40:15

Any time when I want to put off what I should be doing. Or feeling knackered from having done it.

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 07-May-15 11:39:04

...there's a wonderful world you can share. It's the light one, it's the right one. It's martini.

ninathenana Thu 07-May-15 11:21:34

To answer the op question.

Anytime any place any where.........
(what advert was that grin )
I mostly use my phone but will be on my kindle whilst in bed late at night.

POGS Thu 07-May-15 11:10:53

No particular time really, although I do less during the summer when gardening beckons.

I look daily, too many times to be honest. It wasn't until this year I 'customised' my reading to start with latest posts first. How did I miss thatthat option for so long, took me ages to get through my reading before confused

janerowena Thu 07-May-15 10:17:30

Early afternoon - outside gardening, when it has warmed up enough. I have a large garden that needs attention every day.

I come on whenever I stop to have a coffee, in the morning, and when I have lunch, which can be anytime between 1 and 3 depending on what I am up to. Then again at 4 or 5 when I have a big mug of tea. Then later at night before I go to bed, when I have come in from whatever club or activity or night out I have been to. I find it helps to stop my head from buzzing.

So am currently seated with a very large mug of strong black coffee, next task to change the bed.

Charleygirl Thu 07-May-15 10:08:08

I am like Bogoff seemingly addicted. I have no specific time for sending posts.

Having a nap? I go to bed at night to sleep, not to have cat naps during the day.

Bogoff Thu 07-May-15 10:02:10

I'm addicted to GN, pop in whenever I am home between chores etc.

GillT57 Thu 07-May-15 09:44:44

I dip in and out while I am at work, keeps me sane and as I work mainly alone, it is a connection, apart from radio 4, my constant companion! In fact, I must have been popping in for a chat quite a lot lately as my internet provider have sent me an email saying that I have exceeded my contracted use......blush

baubles Thu 07-May-15 09:34:56

Having a nap??

Just how old do you think we all are soontobe? Methinks you're 'aving a laugh. smile

Mornings can be a difficult time for many people Falconbird I'm glad that you feel better as the day goes on. flowers
