You could try your local freebie group, they often have a free2chat group alongside where you could ask.

Perhaps salwhippet had a lightbulb moment and did just that, and is now sorted! Bit discourteous not to let us know, though...

Ana Mon 03-Aug-15 21:10:45

Well, I did suggest googling...

Brake pads are easy. Go on the Europarts website. Enter the registration number of your car and click brake pads. The site will show you all the pads suitable for your car. Order and they will deliver the same day. Jack up the car and take off the wheel. You'll see the disc and pads. Pull the brake caliper off the disc so you can get to the pad. Fasten the caliper to the frame with a bit of bungy so it doesn't pull down on the ABS sensor cable. Now you simply undo the clip holding the old brake pad and replace it with the new one. Push the caliper back into place, replace the wheel and you're good to go.

If you don't fancy that simply google 'mobile car mechanic boxhill surrey uk' and a list appears.

If all else fails and you have a branch of Kwikfit near you, you could try ringing them. They do brakes up here in sunny South Yorks; must be the same dahn Sahf!

Can't you Google 'mobile car mechanic Boxhill'? I'm sure there must be some, and if they have a website they should have reviews from users.

Salwhippet Mon 03-Aug-15 10:08:39

Thank you Alea.
Thought it might be a long shot.
But getting short on time and cash is a consideration, plus I can't drive it to a garage!

Alea Mon 03-Aug-15 09:53:58

Have you tried Yellow Pages? GN could be a bit of a long shot, but good luck anyway,
