He forgot the words?

I heard the song on the radio today, and remembered that there was some fuss made in certain quarters about the fact that Roger Daltrey deliberately stammered while singing the lyrics.

I can't remember what The Who's explanation for it was...

50 years? Blimey. It only seems five minutes since my me and my friends were desperately trying to get a boyfriend who had a scooter and wore a Parka. grin Was never keen on The Who though (I was too wrapped up in the Beatles) but can appreciate their music more now.

I saw Pete Townshend confronted with his lyric on telly just recently. I forget the argument he came up with to wriggle out of it now. grin

I saw them in Abu Dhabi last year, wow, what a fabulous show, they certainly had everyone 'talking about their generation'. They sounded and rocked the stage equally as good as they did 50years ago.

My grandma used to say she didn't like the company of 'old people' grin

Good for her, gillybob!

gillybob Wed 07-Oct-15 12:35:52

My grandma used to say that roses even when she was in her late 90's. Maybe she was a secret Who fan grin

I love it but can't believe it is 50 years old. I was sure it was a song written for "my" generation but I'm only 53 ! I must have listened to it in the womb although can't imagine my mum listening to The Who

rosesarered Wed 07-Oct-15 12:31:46

Hope I die before I get old? grin

My Generation .... this Who record is 50 years old this month!

Just where did the time go?
