Not sure how many of us went to the Saturday Morning Pictures, but perhaps those that did remember singing the "Minors of the ABC" theme song to the tune of (I think) "Blaze Away"

Now, the challenge! I'm trying to find a copy of the score that I can write new lyrics on to, and then show on a PowerPoint presentation.

I am quite happy to forgo the bouncing ball thing, as I'm sure I can improvise with either a stick or a laser pointergrin

Any ideas?

I can't find any free copies of the musical score for 'Blaze Away' on the interenet, although plenty of similar clips to that provided by Shysal...

'internet'

That's the song! I have new words lined up, but what I'm hoping to do is to show the actual score (staves, crotchets, quavers and all that) but be able to put the new words underneath.

My brass band playing OH says. It's a march called Blaze Away by Abraham Holzmann.

He has his uses

Thank you shysal ! I clicked to download, now just need to find where it's gone and see if I can add words!

Nellie I mentioned "Blaze Away" in the op!

Phoenix it shows how much notice I take of things
It appears you can download it from here.

It looks complicated. Are you going to get a military band to play it.

Nelliemoser Wed 07-Oct-15 17:08:00

Oh bugger! Thats another thread I did not read properly. blush

Nelliemoser Wed 07-Oct-15 17:09:47

I will now creep into a corner and stop embarrassing myself.

Anne58 Wed 07-Oct-15 17:22:05

Nellie ! Come out at once! grin

No, not a military band, the plan it that it will be sung unaccompanied!

Bit of a silly thing, really, because were I work is a "school" of woodworking, I said that we should have a school song! My boss gave me "a look" until I wrote it, to the tune of "Blaze Away".

He now wants to get them all to sing it at one of the morning tea break lectures, known as "Dimblebys" confused

Now that definitely wasn't in my job description.......

Nelliemoser Wed 07-Oct-15 17:30:05

Phoenix You will have to show us the words
Are you planning to be the new Gareth Malone bringing singing to the work place?

ninathenana Wed 07-Oct-15 18:05:01

Oh yes, please do post it when finished phoenix

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 07-Oct-15 18:21:43

We didn't have a song at the Gaumont in Dundee! grin

First draft:

We are the happy Rowden students,
All day long we plane and saw,
But we always stop at tea time, for 10 minutes sometimes more
We rely on all our tutors to keep our mitres straight and true,
We're committed to our wood work,
We are the merry Rowden crew!

Very good phoenix. It did make me chuckle and the words brought back the tune for me well done. Hope it goes well. Good luck. smile
