Petra, that is so funny. You are very observant. I just saw posts 'yesterday and today' when I first spotted, and browsed, the OP. Yes, 10 years looking for a number , would make you give up the will to live. Anyway, I found mine in a shorter time, and had the opportunity for a minor rant about inability of AI to answer a basic question without resorting to "the best way to contact us is via our online listing". I know that AI. I want an actual address to post to. grin

Nanny1, hope you found what you wanted.

I hope so. She posted this problem in 2015

Those were the days when we could have a lot of fun with HQ. 😢

Those were the days when you could have a lot of fun full stop!

How I miss the onesies, daps, flying handbags etc 😁

We used to get 'proper' trolls in those days!

My GP surgery was able to offer online booking before Covid. Now it's an online form and signing away your life for the next 6 weeks in a hope of an appointment. Wes, get your act together and tell them to reactivate online booking.

I have at last found the address I appear to need. Hurrah! But why did it have to take so long? I will now post letter tomorrow. Still irritates me that you seem to have to go all round the houses to find what is a pretty simple thing. I get so fed up googling something only to have to scroll through loads of unnecessary information and still not find what I want. What part of 'what is the address/telephone number for ???' do they not understand?

Our local GP surgery refuses to divulge the identity of their Practice manager, or where they are based.
The large local Tesco store gives no name for the Manager, and it was necessary to phone Scotland to learn it. Two letters later, addressed personally, both ignored, one follow-up to the CEO, also ignored, which is why I now shop at Waitrose, the Co-op and Aldi.

I thought Jinglebells had risen until I looked at the date Good grief how do you resserected these old posts it won’t allow me to open them let alone write on the.

It's a bit irritating in this digital age not being able to get a 'real' address for firms/Government bodies/organisations. Same with telephone numbers. I am trying to send a letter to HMRC re a Trust matter but I can't seem to find anything sensible. I saw one ending in AB but it seemed to be about Complaints. Other one ending in AS is not an official HMRC box but a 'sorting office', so reluctant to use. I despair. I'm thinking I'll have to try to send by PM on Government site. I wanted proof of posting! Why can't they just have an address that covers what you want? I'm fairly computer competent but feel sorry for those who aren't in my age range.

OP ten years ago

I do not think Gransnet has an accessible telephone number. I remember attempting to contact them about a post as I wanted to discuss it personally about three years ago, but could not find any evidence of a telephone number then, or since.
I emailed and received the usual anodyne reply, please check Gransnet guidelines etc etc and no action was taken.

JennyCee, you can still get connected by using the link on the previous days email then clicking on 'last day' at the top of the screen

Maggiemaybe Tue 03-Jun-25 11:04:19

I know! sad

Whitewavemark2 Tue 03-Jun-25 10:48:28

Oh jinglebellfrocks😢😢😢

JennyCee Tue 03-Jun-25 10:46:28

Why is it I don’t receive the daily missive until after lunch, but regularly see other contributors referring to a previous thread, obviously early in the day. In other words, why doesn’t my ‘Gransnet’ arrive until way after everyone else’s?

How did you get on with your enquiry nanny1 ? I was thinking about applying and would be interested to hear your experience. Thanks!

There you are! Cari will tell you. smile

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Tue 13-Oct-15 13:31:30

Hello nanny1 - if the email was yesterday...the person who is best to speak to wasn't around and so it's awaiting her return - we promise to be in touch asap

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 13-Oct-15 13:31:01

I would think you have to use email. [email protected].

Otherwise we would all be ringing them up asking for various emoticons, etc.

(Hmm. Where could I find that number...) grin
