I always freeze mine on the same day, take out as I require them, but to answer your question I would microwave a few seconds, if this doesn't revive them, then out for our feathered friends wink

I agree that toasting is the way to go. It works extra well on cheese scones.

I would try a few seconds in the microwave with one & see if that revives it.

Sprinkle with water and heat them up briefly, then eat them fast.

I have got half a dozen scones got ng hard any suggestions what to do with them or should birds get them
