Glossing hair

This thread reminded me I have a glossing spray in the bathroom cupboard, a Frizease one. I think I only used it once and then put it away. Anyway, I got it out and gave my head a good spraying but it didn't look much different. Disappointing.

I think my reason for trying it is I miss having my hair coloured, picking the colour, sitting quietly reading magazines while the colour works, then walking out a new me. However I do not want to spend the money on maintaining the colour, so glossing whilst adding to my bill would not be so expensive, thought I might do it before I went on holiday. I have a good cut every 5/6 weeks because I think the cut is more important to looking younger than colour.

Reading further, it seems the salon glosses are completely different, like a semi-permanent colour, but clear. I assume they will last through several shampoos. I never go to the hairdressers, so am unlikely to try it.

I for one had certainly never heard of 'glossing' until this thread.

I had never heard of it either. The home ones seem to vary enormously, so will try the Charles Worthington, to which the DM gave top marks.
My hair is curly and about 20-30% coarse grey.
