Underwear every day. When I worked blouse or top clean every day, suits were rotated so cleaned every term.

Now some jumpers a couple of wears with camisoles washed each wear,. Blouses every wear. Jean 3/4 wears.

Don't think our grannies would have been too happy having to have the dolly tub on the go more than once a week!

What is this modern obsession with super-cleanliness? confused

I'm not saying how often I wash my bra/s...

DD2 has 'expressive hands' too, that knock things over (wine, gravy boats etc etc)

When yhey are dirty and/or need freshening up. Lady who owns local (expensive) lingerie shop said bras should only be washed about once a month shockshockshock She assumed women were clean when they got dressed and used anti perspirant!

Jalima We have a family saying – often quoted at me – don't tip before the lip!

Should have read 'underwear, one wear and in the wash'

Underwear, 1 wash, anything else goes on look and smell. If a garment is visibly clean and doesn't smell, it isn't washed until one of those tests is failed.

DH always says he doesn't know how I manage to miss my mouth and pour tea/coffee/wine down myself.

Yes it's a case of time of year. Winter clothes certainly last a lot longer. If they still look clean they get used again. I don't often wear cardis but I make them last ages. Jumpers probably 2-3 wears, jeans possibly a week. Summer clothes get far more washes: t shirts after one wearing and shorts possibly two, but then they go out in the sun and dry quickly. Underwear, goes without saying, one wear.

As possibly the world's messiest cook – and I do wear an apron when cooking – I cannot wear anything more than once unless I want to display the previous day's menu for all to see.

Socks and knickers every day - and quite often tops as I am very messy blush
Clean trousers yesterday got covered in mud, so straight into the wash again.

Oh & DH has clean clothes from the inside out every day!

Jeans after 2/3 wears, don't wear any other types of trousers except for leggings under a tunic occasionally and they would be washed every time.
Tshirts probably after a couple of wears and everything else after several wears.
I'm not sweaty though and barring spills or a sticky fingered child my clothes really don't get dirty quickly.

I sometimes wear my jeans for a week as well, it's not as though I do anything strenuous or dirt-attracting in them.

Not all day every day, but I'm certainly not one of those who dumps all their clothes in the washing basket at the end of the day. Same with jumpers and cardigans (actually, even longer for cardis) although summer tops usually only worn once.

Jeans last at least a week, that is what they are for! I try and wear a t-shirt under a jumper so that is changed every day and the jumper doesn't need washing so often. but if it has been a mucky day at work (we have a light engineering business), it is wash everything.

Knickers/pants are obviously 1 wear, 1 wash, but what about trousers, tops/jumpers, cardigans etc?

Also does your DH operate on a different level? (Mr P has clean socks and pants everyday, but will sometimes wear his jeans for what seems like a week! (Possibly not, but as I don't monitor his laundry, who knows)
