Found a picture of it. Oh how my mouth is watering!

None of the new recipes seem so good as the old ones. Cadburys chocolate is an example - it is awful.

Marydoll Fri 14-Apr-17 09:17:33

They used to be called "Toffee Cup" and then they changed the recipe, the shape and name to "Golden Cup"

When did the Golden cup bars disappear ?

travelsafar Fri 14-Apr-17 08:07:25

Oh my god i had totally forgotten about Golden Cup chocolate bars, they were to die for!!!!! Loved loved loved them.

loved that egg like a clock, driving me potty that I can't recall the name. Hope someone can! Anne, do have as many eggs as you would like this year, just enjoy them. Men eh?

mumofmadboys Fri 14-Apr-17 07:28:11

Gosh I haven't thought about those clocks with 12 eggs for years!! Ann buy yourself an egg this year and enjoy!

Mmmmm remember it well. I've made it a point in life to never forget chocolate! I have a jigsaw as yet untouched that is of 1950s chocolates and sweets. It shoes a Cadbury Coffee "Dessert " bar; Crackerchoc; Rowntree Milk Motoring bar; Bolero and a Sky Bar. I dont remember any of those, does anyone else?

I am envying you all with your stories of having Easter eggs.
I was born two years before the war and sweets and chocolate seemed to have been rationed for ever.
My mother was not an indulgent mother and
I can never remember having an egg. I bought them for my C but my H is another who didn't think I would have liked one. I had just finished radiotherapy a few days before Easter 17 years ago now and did say to him " perhaps you will buy me an egg this year"
His reply? "Oh just get yourself one when you do the food shopping"
I have a very long memory ?

Does anyone remember Macintoshes Toffee Cup chocolate bar? It is my all time favourite chocolate bar.

tiffaney Thu 13-Apr-17 20:43:58

I'm trying to find a picture of one. I can see it quite clearly in my mind.

grannypiper Thu 13-Apr-17 20:40:02

tiffaney i was so happy when i received one of those for my Birthday (Just before Easter). If i close my eyes i can see it now

My uncle worked in Macintoshes factory. We got the rejects, bags of them. We got to taste the first Caramac too before it hit the shops!

Toffee filled Easter eggs are lovely, so much nicer than those Cadburys creme eggs.

Do they still make them?

GillT57 Thu 13-Apr-17 19:51:27

Oh yes, that brings back memories! My late aunt and uncle bought me one for Easter one year, I kept the box for ages as I liked it so much.

tiffaney Thu 13-Apr-17 19:50:19

Does anyone remember a hexagonal shaped box with a clock on it containing small toffee filled easter eggs? l have a feeling Mackintoshes made them. My late Mum used to buy them for my daughter (now 43).
