After yesterday's disaster is it over for Mrs May?

Notme Fri 06-Oct-17 23:07:51

Interesting that Theresa May has experienced the heartbreak of being unable to have children, as did the artist.

lemongrove Fri 06-Oct-17 23:02:26

Perhaps that is but one, of the many differences between you durhamjen and Mrs May ? she can wear a bracelet with designs by Khalo on it, regardless of the fact that the artist was a Communist ( and had eyebrows that met in the middle) whereas you probably wear a tee shirt that says ‘never spoken in a friendly manner to a Tory’ on it.?

durhamjen Fri 06-Oct-17 22:53:29

Some of us get called communists just for mentioning Corbyn. That bracelet, which was so unobtrusive that some people never noticed, was a sure sign.

Yes, Tegan, and she also had polio as a child which left her disabled.
An amazing life, considering what she had been through.
Extremely political. A proper feminist icon.

Tegan2 Fri 06-Oct-17 22:50:13

A strong and stable woman; now rebranded as 'calm'. She's going to run out of words to describe herself soon.

Notme Fri 06-Oct-17 22:47:28

There are also rumours that she is a woman. An intelligent, strong woman. Actually supportive of other women. Which one do you go along with?

Maybe that's why she wore the bracelet.

Tegan2 Fri 06-Oct-17 22:44:31

Subliminal messages and all that....didn't the artist have a terrible accident when she was young but battled through it?

POGS Fri 06-Oct-17 22:44:27

Of course she is and there are rumours McDonnell is really a Tory infiltrator spying on the Labour Party .

durhamjen Fri 06-Oct-17 22:33:57

There are rumours that May is a communist sleeper.

Anniebach Fri 06-Oct-17 22:28:59

I didn't notice the bracelet.

I agree Notme, her husband obviously loves her, he seems very protective of her too, married 37 years

Notme Fri 06-Oct-17 22:28:12

I would wear a bracelet with this artist/woman's picture on it.

durhamjen Fri 06-Oct-17 22:21:06

Sorry, Kahlo.

durhamjen Fri 06-Oct-17 22:20:25

They were all of Frida Khalo, and yes, of course, we all know that she never makes fashion statements, does she?

You'll be suggesting next that she had no idea who Frida Khalo was.

Notme Fri 06-Oct-17 22:15:47

I think it's very refreshing how much her husband obviously loves her. And she has come out of this much better than loser Shapps has.

Baggs Fri 06-Oct-17 21:44:54

Perhaps Theresa May doesn't think that wearing that bracelet makes a ha'porth of difference to anything. what were the other pictures on it?

durhamjen Fri 06-Oct-17 21:16:55

But lemon, you don't show yours off on international television. In fact, if you wore one, nobody would care as we don't know who you are or your politics.
You are not internationally or even nationally important.

lemongrove Fri 06-Oct-17 20:21:03

In fact, I want one ,now.

lemongrove Fri 06-Oct-17 20:19:01

You can admire an artist’s work no matter what their politics,
Come to that, I admire the work of Carravagio, but wouldn’t allow my young teenage DGS anywhere near him ( if he was alive of course?)
The bracelet was attractive, end of.

Anniebach Fri 06-Oct-17 19:20:52

Come to think of it, as a university student I expect she did have reason to travel by train .

Anniebach Fri 06-Oct-17 19:19:27

I wouldn't know, I don't have that much interest in her daily activities.

whitewave Fri 06-Oct-17 19:18:57

Loathsome has hinted that she might go for leadership grin ever onwards -ever downwards.

durhamjen Fri 06-Oct-17 19:12:24

Has she been on a train yet?

Anniebach Fri 06-Oct-17 18:41:34

To be fair to May, she has never accused a single reporter who asked a question of harassing her and raced to hide behind a glass door. That was too embarrassing to be classed at amusing. Has she sat on the floor of a train yet ?

Grant Shapps is a manipulative, scheming (damned) villain. Michael Gove distanced himself from Shapps' comments and of course, Michael Gove is such a sweet, straightforward, non scheming type of chap so all is well.
My sympathy for TM is just that, sympathy for someone having a dire time of it. Yes, its mainly of her own making. She stood outside number 10 on the night of her confirmation as tory leader and made a speech that could have been made by a middle of the road politician, that is could have been a so called 'right leaning' Labour politician. She made some similar comments at conference, watered down of course by her support for market forces. My big complaint is that she says one thing in front of the camera, then allows her hench people to enhance the austerity programme, as Mr Trump may say "bigly".
The tories are in disarray and seem to be losing their ability to be in such disarray but behind closed doors. I'm with GGranM2, I'd like to see some kind of PR. Our political boundaries seem likely to be re-drawn, leaving us in a largely tory constituency and our sitting MP with a large number of his supporters disenfranchised.
The current government sent the message that it had listened to the criticism on the door step about its austerity agenda and would make changes. Does that include saying some public servants, but not all, can have more than 1% providing its paid for out of existing budgets. Yes, that's the kind of listening we don't need isn't it.

durhamjen Fri 06-Oct-17 18:01:58

Brilliant, whitewave. I feel such a fool laughing out so loudly on my own.

whitewave Fri 06-Oct-17 18:00:01

Someone said “knowing Mays record, if she decided to fall onto her sword, she would miss” grin
