My son cannot stand 'Minions'. He maintains that if he is out and about he cannot go half a day without seeing one somewhere. Is he right?

For my part, I don't think I can get past half a day without hearing the word Brexit. But that is a whole other argument ... grin

I agree and feel the same concerning a certain winner of Bake off.
Baking a cake for Queen Elizabeth's 90th birthday, great. well done. Can I open a magazine minus her recipes.? Can I watch a TV struggles in life interview that shows other Bake off winners? I walk into my local supermarket book section dominated by none other than a picture of this winner advertising her book of recipes..
Give us a break.

Well they passed me by, can't say I'm sorry grin

I don’t live on Rannochmoor, but I’d certainly never heard of them until now. I must consult the GCs.

For me, it's unicorns. They have suddenly exploded onto everything. Goodness knows why. They have always been around, but never as prolific as recently

Annie - they appeared some years ago in a film which DGD asked to see, Despicable Me. Much related merchandise was sold. Not to us. Then they were central to a second film which I have not seen. They are still going strong and appear as yellow and blue birthday cakes.
In other words, you have missed nothing!
Some DMs (affectionately?) refer to DC as ' the Minions'.

No apologies. They make me smile!

KatyK....it must be the age, my 68 year old husband is also obsessed with Minions. We went to the cinema for the first time in thirty years to see Despicable M3

Oh so that’s what they are called! I find them repulsive.

I am sick of Mary Berry on everything and I may be the only person who has never read or watched Harry Potter.

Brexit? I do not watch or read the news so I mostly get away without too much exposure.

gillybob Sun 15-Oct-17 09:22:30

We love Minions too (and trolls).

I agree about Mary Berry Floradora I'm sick of the site of her too.

pollyperkins Sun 15-Oct-17 09:14:12

They are on T shirts and other items of clothing all over the place. My little GS has a minions baseball cap.

maryhoffman37 Sun 15-Oct-17 09:12:39

I can't bear the hideous Minions! (Or Brexit)

hildajenniJ Sat 14-Oct-17 17:26:59

Ha, ha. I just sent my niece a Facebook birthday message with a Minions birthday sticker. I blame the DGC, they love the movies.

M0nica Sat 14-Oct-17 16:25:00

I think DGS quite likes them, but they have passed me by. Cannot honestly say I notice them anywhere, let alone elsewhere, but I am a country bumpkin, and only go to town about once a week.

Anniebach Sat 14-Oct-17 16:20:37

Thanks vampirequeen, can't recall seeing them

KatyK Sat 14-Oct-17 16:16:26

My 71 year old husband is obsessed with minions grin He has them on socks, t-shirts, shorts and even had a minion cake for his birthday.

vampirequeen Sat 14-Oct-17 16:14:57

Oh anniebach where have you been for the last few years grin? Watch this and you'll understand what the rest of us have been suffering grin

Sounds idyllic Baggs.

Baggs Sat 14-Oct-17 15:48:23

Tell him to relocate to Rannochmoor. No minions there but he'd be sure to see the Milky Way on clear nights.

CherryHatrick Sat 14-Oct-17 15:47:07

The capital 'M' was a clue.

Anniebach Sat 14-Oct-17 15:40:54

Sorry, never heard of them

Imperfect27 Sat 14-Oct-17 15:30:04

ninathenana Sat 14-Oct-17 15:23:08

Imperfect27 Sat 14-Oct-17 15:14:23

Tsk ... well, I might have misunderstood him too ...

Anniebach Sat 14-Oct-17 15:08:11

Imp, I don't think we are speaking of the same minions?
