I'm not saying I can top that thlsmile but two incidents spring to mind.
I met H on holiday abroad. The first time he came to stay with me in my town (he lived 60 miles away) on our return to UK we were out walking when he greeted a girl coming towards us. Turns out they had had a holiday fling in Spain two years previous.

We went on holiday to Devon from Kent and whilst out and about we were surprised to meet our next door neighbours who were spending a week in the same town. We all knew we were away that week but neither couple had said where they were going.

Oh had a life saving emergency surgery 2yrs ago and his intensive care nurse was called Glady and the consultants surname was Pascal. OH's parents were called Gladys and Pascal, OH is convinced they were watching over him.

This didn't happen to me but is something I was told. At senior school there was a boy and girl who were sweethearts. They walked about together all the time and apparently their relationship continued through university and beyond. They were going to marry and honeymoon in Italy, as the girl wanted to see the Leaning tower of Pisa. Sadly the boy ( now a man) fell in love with someone else and the relationship finished. Eventually the girl found someone else and married him. They went to Pisa for their honeymoon. As they walked around the Leaning tower coming the other way ( you've guessed it) were the young man and his new wife.
What happened next I don't know.

What a wonderful story Daisy I bet no one could possibly beat that for a series of coincidences!

A couple of years ago I was making the long drive to Devon (I live in Luton) to stay with friends. With me were my DD (darling dog!) and my tortoise.
After a couple of hours I pulled into a service area so that we could all stretch our legs. Dogs are always up for a wee and tortoises don't travel well.
My tortoise was in a box on the back seat and ,whilst I was retrieving him, backing out of the car, I bumped into someone. Tortoise in hand, I turned to apologise, only to be confronted by a lady doing exactly the same thing!!
But it didn't end there!
We both walked over to the grassy area and put our tortoises down to have a trundle , only to be met with a loud "Oh my God ! coming from the car in front of us.
A couple came over and the man explained that his wife was just asking him what he would like for his birthday,to which he replied
that he had always wanted a tortoise ,only to look up and see us putting our tortoises down right in front of him !
In a long life, this is one of the most extraordinary coincidences that has happened to me.
How about the rest of you Gransnetters. There must be some wonderful stories out there.
