New grandchild

We bought prams for both first GC ( they chose) and as they also did for second in each family we bought a new high chair for one and a bedroom furniture for the other.
All their own choice.

We bought the pram and all the bits that go with it , a travel system they are called I think for one and the bedroom furniture for the other one. Ask them what they want is the best way to go.

When our first GC was on the way I bought a travel system but DS and DIL were there to choose it. GC2 they had all the equipment so bought a new cot mattress and linen. Best to ask what is required not just pick something.

Congratulations, gillybob! Lovely news to cheer up a miserable January. I think I'd give them the money then they can have the fun of choosing for themselves. Or if you wanted to keep control, you could all go together to choose?

I would choose together, much depends on the weight and size, ie will it fit in the family car?
My mum chose and bought my DDs first pram without discussing it with me and I hated it. It was a $hitty brown with a cheap plastic hood and storm cover, also it was too high for me to push comfortably and cumbersome to manoeuvre.
It finally collapsed when DD2 was 18 months old. I was so relieved.

Ask the parents, we did one thing with one couple and another with the others. Up to them to choose I think.

I’ve just found out that we have a new grandchild arriving in 3 months time ! I have paid for the pram and my dad ( great grandad )bless him, is paying the cot . My DD and her partner don’t have a lot of money but they make up for that with heaps and heaps of love .
