Today, meeting up with long time friends. Real friends that we don’t see often but when we do it’s as if we were with them yesterday.

almost any little thing tbh, a pleasant chat with a friend, getting the ironing done, a G&T in the evening, a good book,
DH returning from shopping with the right things etc.

Having a good old chat with some one, preferably face to face, but also a phone call.

A funny dog video sent by my daughter, a new book and lovely cool mornings to walk with my dogs.

Lying in bed this morning and brain working out how to do a small job that I've wanted to for for ages. It's now all successfully done, cost nothing except time, and help from DH. (Smug and happy emoticon)

If daylight at end of said long day, the garden, looking at. If dark, it used to be a real fire or even flickering imitation gas fire when I had one, now poached egg and a favourite book.

Waking up to a beautiful day always cheers me up, especialy if i have plenty of things planned to keep me busy and my brain stimulated.I do like to factor in a session of relaxation on the sofa though with a good film or TV prog, that always cheers me up.smile

petitpois is there room on the sofa for me? We are kindred spirits. I would add a good handful of magnesium salts (Epsom Salts, cheap from the chemist and a muscle relaxant) and a few good drops of lavender essential oil to the bath water. smile

A glass of Guinness, and Gransnet! ?. And a silly WhatsApp message from my GS.

I've had a long, frustrating day of form-filling, misunderstandings and bureaucracy. And walking so my feet are aching. Now I'm at home, planning on running a hot bath, and I've picked up one of those takeaway Thai meals from Waitrose. Planning on snuggling on the sofa and watching a movie. What cheers you up after a long day?
