Ok, Im nearly 69, and am still in possession of all my pubic hair. - but it seems that modern fashion means we should all be naked as the day we were born! From what I read/see etc online in the papers, TV, nearly all younger women have decided that pubic hair is no longer in vogue!! My dilemma is ,as far as medical stuff goes, I feel a bit foolish (and dare I say it-dirty) for still having mine!! Most of the nursing staff, doctors etc are much younger, and I feel they may look at me in a "grubby" way when I have been in hospital etc. Do any of you older ladies still have what god intended ??

The answer, LadyinSpain, is that if you have been feeling foolish, Don't.
Medical professionals don't care if you are hairy or not, as long as you are clean.
If you're still worried about it, why not ask the next doctor/nurse whom you have to consult.

Ourkid1, I think it would need a much bigger target group to be of any meaningful help to any outside surveys
1 in ten ( choose a number) don’t / dont vagazalise their bits ?

Bridgeit Sun 30-Dec-18 17:26:14

But surely you need a mirror to see it?

OurKid1 Sun 30-Dec-18 17:24:53

I may well be excommunicated for this ... * Do any of you older ladies still have what god intended ??* Not a very subtle way of gaining information for dubious purposes is it?

What no grans with a Vajazzle? Not even for Christmas?

PECS Sun 30-Dec-18 14:34:42

I was always 'blessed' with plenty of pubic hair..always a nightmare for 'bikini' lines before the current depilatory options were so easily available. My hirsute state never caused me any issues either intimately during sex, in labour or any subsequent examinations. I am less 'covered' than in my younger days but I assume health professionals have seen it all and I am not easily embarrassed!

Ladysinpain, you are a prude .

MawBroon Sun 30-Dec-18 14:16:29

Perhaps an attempt to bring the thread (back) to our attention.
Pretty much all that can be said has been said, surely?

Chewbacca Sun 30-Dec-18 14:13:23

My GD had her head hair braided Jalima and it ruined her hair until it had pretty much all regrown. The tension in the braiding process breaks the hair apparently. But don't let this put you off if you have a yearning to try it! grin

Jalima1108 Sun 30-Dec-18 13:37:59

Please don't start crying LadyinSpain

You'll start me off too sad

mcem Sun 30-Dec-18 13:36:49

lady I don't understand your last post at all.
You've had a wide range of replies.
Helpful, silly, sympathetic, naughty, amusing!
With the exception of one maybe, nothing here says "taboo".
What did you expect or what would you find acceptable?

Jalima1108 Sun 30-Dec-18 13:36:19

Has anyone tried beaded hair extensions?

Or do think they could make it difficult to sit down in comfort?

Lilypops Sun 30-Dec-18 13:31:27

Am puzzled, a few took exception to a post yesterday about going with or without a bra for comfort, it seemed to start a riot , yet here is a post about pubic hair that seems to be getting a few normal replies,

mumofmadboys Sun 30-Dec-18 13:30:26

As a retired doc I don't think I examined any retired ladies who had shaven down below. The youngsters did especially Asian ladies. Some shaved every day! No wonder they caused the occasional infected spot.

muffinthemoo Sun 30-Dec-18 13:29:11

BBbevan I can’t stop laughing

Ladyinspain Sun 30-Dec-18 13:25:51

Certainly no offense intended to any of you ! Think I'll just read the posts in future, seems there are "taboos" in being a member here. Lets all stick to questions about out DIL's and Unwanted Christmas presents. A REAL question about body bits seems to have offended soooo many !

Ladyinspain Sun 30-Dec-18 13:22:43

Why? It is a genuine query? Just wanted to ask other ladies of a certain age, how they cope with intimate examinations, as I feel foolish still having pubic hair- simple really

Ladyinspain Sun 30-Dec-18 13:21:02

Yes its real! I mean when we need to be examined, not just to lie in bed! I've had many kidney issues, and have ongoing examinations

Once, when we were having a brew in the CAB office, someone asked me if I wanted a tea bag. When I replied 'No I have a red bush', I took a few seconds to realise why everyone was bent double with laughter. tchblush

Gonegirl Sat 29-Dec-18 20:40:51

A relief? confused Did you really think I might? Was the thought worrying you?

BlueBelle Sat 29-Dec-18 20:37:26

Phew that’s a relief

Gonegirl Sat 29-Dec-18 20:36:40

I would have to do contortions to see it. I'm just not up to it.

Gonegirl Sat 29-Dec-18 20:35:09

Do you doubt me? I'm not posting a pic. ?

Gonegirl Sat 29-Dec-18 20:34:13

Yes.

BlueBelle Sat 29-Dec-18 20:10:11

Has it Gone Girl
