How to pack duvets for moving

When I move, I put duvets in black storage bags. If you don't overfill the bags, they don't split.

I always pack duvets and pillows in vacuum bags for storage.

Thanks to all for this advice. We're going to put the duvets in pillowcases, then plastic in bags.

Strong garden refuse sacks will do we put spare ones in the loft and seal them well in this way .

Vacuum bags definitely. They are not that expensive - you can get them from places like Poundstretcher. We stored curtains and throws in some a few years ago and they are still okay.

Ikea and Wilko sell vacuum bags not too expensive. Well known online retailer maybe the place to go.

Definitely vacuum bags - they will be re-used many times so not so expensive. I packed our duvets with the covers on and popped the pillow cases and bottom sheet in as well. That way you have a whole bed ready to go when you reach your new home exhausted.

Vacuum bags or those large zipped, see through storage bags from the big blue and yellow shop. Vacuum bags needn’t be expensive.

Just moved, bought extra large vacuum bags from The Factory Shop @ £3 each, ideal, took king sized duvet and pillows. Will be using again to store summer or winter bedding.

Definitely vacuum storage bags. They can be used again for storing spare bedding. I store my winter duvets in them over summer and vice versa.

I'd use vacuum bags, they're not that expensive when you consider how much moving costs you.

I have some large strong vacuum storage bags which I used to move and use them to store the spare duvets. They take less space in the storage area.

I put them in black bags and the removal men put some of them in boxes. I have not mastered the art of using vacuum bags.

Haven't moved with them yet, but we have several for spare/guest beds. We roll them up as tightly as poss and stuff into old pillow cases - which I then mark with single/double/winter/summer etc,, or it's a pain trying to sort out which is which.
If moving I'd have thought you could do the same with covers on. And presumably no need to mark, since you'd probably know from the cover which was which.

We put them in plastic bin bags and put them on the back seat of the car. We also put the box of tea and coffee things in the car so that we had something to sleep on and a drink if the van was delayed for any reason.

I put mine into large suitcases, and squished them in to close the case

I rolled each duvet up tight like a sleeping bag and put two strong elastic bands around each end. Then put duvets into clean removal box. Good luck with your move ecci55!
