Pram for daughter

My neighbour has triplet toddlers and (for local walks) tows them along in what looks like little 'railway carriages' as she found a triple buggy just too awkward.

Why has this been thread renewed the triplets must have been born by now so pointless

DINNNO, I'd double check with your daughter before buying anything as she may have her own ideas about what's practical, especially if she tends to drive more than she walks!

Dinno -I hope that you and your daughter are in touch with their local TAMBA (Twins & Multiple Birth Association) branch. This would be very useful for her to meet other parents of multiples and the national magazine they produce contains several prams and other items suitable for triplets, quads, etc. Good luck with three in one go..

10 years ago my DD's choice of a Silver Cross 'travel and sleep system' cost me well over £1000, followed a year later by a £600 double buggy.
This year sensible Dil and DS have chosen a sensible, simpler carrycot system costing £500.
My niece found the fore and aft style double buggy impossible and sold it after a week or two.
Our side by side one was manoeuvrable and much lighter.
I'd certainly consider the weight before buying!

I hope your daughter doesn't live in a hilly area, Dinno. I know someone who had triplets and couldn't manage to push the pram (ordered specially from Germany) up the hills. She was effectively house bound as her husband was away in the Navy and she didn't drive or have family locally to help her. Choose the lightest one you can.

looks like a good price,we're currently looking at prams for our expected GD ,theres very little my sons partner likes that are under £1000 ,We bought the last baby's pram and cot for not much more than that

I did have a look online for prams. The ones I found looked unsuitable for newborns. I don't trust prams/pushchairs where there's a seat or bed above another. I know it's possible that even modern prams can collapse. I know better than to place a heavy object over a babies head that could fall onto the baby below.

SueDonim sent me a nice link to one I think I'll go for. It's a bit expensive priced for £969.00 but given that pram is constructed to fit three newborns, and there are ways to position the pram so no seats are above any of the triplets. it looks like it's worth the price. I can't really find anything better.

My sister had triplets (they are now 21) and she had an old- fashioned upright twin pram. The two smaller ones lay side by side and the bigger one lay at the other end- they used it until they were toddlers, for walks to the shops and the park etc. She had two buggies for the car, a twin and a single.

My friend had tripletes 26 years ago and there were triple buggies available then so I'd imagine theres more choice now .

I've seen many unsafe products over the years being sold, so I can't exactly trust your ''they wouldn't be allowed to sell it if it wasn't safe.'' statement.

I appreciate the link. I've had a look and don't think that particular pushchair is safe. I think the one on top might collapse. onto one of the two underneath. I could be wrong?

Saw one when out n about.
Like a side by side double buggy with a third seat on top (where a hood might sit). My own DGD was fascinated!
