I haven’t played scrabble for years but would like to restart during lockdown. Any recommendations please ? Also can I get a free download ? Thanks.

Following the advice here, I downloaded Classic words and find it very good. I started on normal level but found it too easy and moved up to hard. I’ve only lost one game out of 13 so far! Makes a change from Spider solitaire.

I play Words with Friends but be careful of the scammers on a lot of these sites.

I've just followed up some of these games and not one seems to be for a PC (Win 10)

Anyone know where I can get a PC version? Preferably to play solo.

I play Classic Words and also like Scrabble Sprint available on Memory Improvement Tips.

I just downloaded a Classic Words and won against the computer!

Thanks CrazyH I will try that one as well. I’m already becoming hooked on the game. ?

I play Scrabble (the original green one) - you can download it directly or from the AppStore,

Another Words with Friends player here, looking for more players!

You might find me as Rachel H118 (or something like that, hopeless at remembering things like that!)

Used to play regularly with another GN member, but she's sadly not playing currently.

Oops just read your update!

Another vote here for Classic Words. You can alter the levels.

I play scrabble online too. I sometimes have 20 games going at once as there's no time pressure. How decadent is that!
I'm convinced it's mostly luck.

I like Wordfeud better than Words with friends which I gave up. Since the lock down my regular partners are playing more games. I play Classic Words as well. My husband likes Sudoku but I don't do well with numbers.

BlueBelle Sun 29-Mar-20 17:26:13

I play Wordfeud and Words with friends 2 I ve played that about 6/7 years got some regulars I play with
I totally avoid the chat except with one friend

An app that I use constantly on my phone and tablet is Upwords. It’s like Scrabble, but you can put letters on top of words that are already on the board in order to make a new word. Your opponent is the ‘computer’.

May thanks girls. I have downloaded Classic Words and have already played 2 games.

I don't know how to get my statistics working but that doesn't really matter. I hope to upgrade from Easy in a week or so, just getting the feel of it.

I used to play Words with Friends, but gave up. My#1 son gavecme a link to Scrabble Go. It's similar but much better overall and you can play others or just against the game. It's a free download too.

Missfoodlove Sun 29-Mar-20 10:17:41

I play Words with Friends, also free.

henetha Sun 29-Mar-20 10:00:31

I agree MiniMoon. It's brilliant.

MiniMoon Sun 29-Mar-20 09:58:50

I too play Classic Words Free. I have it on my tablet and my phone. I've tried a few different ones, but in my opinion this is the best of them.

boheminan Sun 29-Mar-20 09:54:40

Playing Scrabble on Facebook's keeping me sane at the moment, and it has the addition of being able to 'messenger' other players from across the world, making 'friends' and 'chatting'.

vampirequeen Sun 29-Mar-20 09:49:24

I play online through Facebook.

henetha Sun 29-Mar-20 09:46:46

I play Scrabble every day on my phone. It's actually called Classic Words and it's very easy to download the app.
