Sorry, when I wrote recommended but it is not accurate.

I should have written - the new guidelines are only to use the mattress sheet and a sleep sack on the baby.

My GC all had pillows after a friends baby had flat head syndrome and had to wear a helmet to reverse it .They said the cause was sleeping on her back .The pillows have a hole in the middle like a doughnut and are firm so baby cant suffocate on them

I don't think the OP means a pillow. Like half a fitted sheet which could be slid off the end of the mattress.

But I wouldn't use them, better to lift the baby, make sure he's ok if he's been a bit sick and change the whole sheet.

No pillow is safe for a small baby, according to the NHS Why would you take the risk of SIDS?

All my GC have slept in grobags. They’re very easy to use and much better than faffing about with top sheets and blankets.

Small amounts of milk that were brought up onto the sheet were mopped up with a muslin or cloth until it could be changed properly next time the baby woke.

Suedonim the pillows were bought on the advice of the GP .

I’d prefer the advice of the entire NHS and the Lullaby Trust to that of one GP who may or may not be up to date with current practises.
