Another Michael Moseley fan here. Lost over a stone and a half in spring, now on the maintenance diet. Basically the 5:2. Overnight oats, Greek yogurt and some fruit is a good sustaining breakfast. When I want a change, two men on a raft. ?
Porridge is quite sustaining but not particularly appetising. I prefer Greek yoghurt with fruits, particularly bananas, some hazelnuts and a drizzle of honey.
My husband swears by scrambled eggs on toast to get him through a round of golf till about 2 pm. Dietary advice usually backs up the sustainability of eggs, sadly of late they make me feel queasy.
I have an omelette with tomatoes for breakfast and full fat cottage cheese with green salad for lunch , plus an orange and apple . Dinner is fish based with veggies, salad , rice , stir fry combinations followed by kefir and berries, fresh or frozen.
Based on advice from Michael Mosley I have lost 10.5 lb lockdown weight in 7 weeks without dieting.
Have been having half a bottle of wine over the weekends.
Porridge made with almond milk, banana or berries, non dairy yoghurt and chia seeds. Green tea, orange juice. Lunch- Peanut butter sandwich with loads of salad or hummus. Sustaining and filling.
I find overnight oats keeps me going for hours. I/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup soya milk ( or any kind), 1/2 cup berries ( fresh or frozen) or any other fruit, 1/2 a banana and a dollop of 0% sugar Greek yogurt.
Mary I wake up then as well. But I manage to go back to sleep for a couple of hours, probably the best two hours sleep I get! So yogurt at 8.30 sees me through; it's not a little pot of yogurt, it's fresh fruit and Greek yogurt.
A very small portion of porridge berries few walnuts tbs yoghurt. Lunch boiled egg spinach and one small slice wholemeal toast. Or soup, beans or avocado with toast. Piece of fruit mid afternoon. This plus a sensible dinner with very small portion of carbs. But don't forget to treat yourself one day a week.
Fruit and yogurt for breakfast and a bowl of homemade soup............any kind ,veg, tomato, broth, lentil, leek potato for lunch. Must start that some day!
One I saw & have tried after watching the Michael Moseley programme the other night is low fat cottage cheese with a little cinnamon stirred through, with a small handful of blueberries and a few walnuts or almonds. Its delicious and keeps me full for ages
