Yup wellies or wellingtons. Not heard of water boots but each to his/her own.

Wellie boots here or wellies. My dad said gum boots sometimes when he was talking about farm life.

As a child some used the full word “wellingtons” but they’ve always been wellies for me . I had an uncle who called them gum boots.

Such a variety of styles and colours now for children and adults. Ours were always plain old black. I love going off road for a wellie walk across the fields.
