Hi semi market research for a family member. Emery board or steel nail file ?

Kim19 Sun 10-Jan-21 12:19:41

Only clippers ever. Larger for toes and small for fingers. Never had a problem.

kircubbin2000 Sun 10-Jan-21 12:14:33

That is not the emoticon I chose, why has it changed?

kircubbin2000 Sun 10-Jan-21 12:13:41

Neither! Cringe.?

Emery board. Tried glass ones, don't like them.

Lexisgranny Sat 09-Jan-21 09:45:26

Wide Emery board

honeyrose Sat 09-Jan-21 09:36:24

Emery.

Completely divided opinion! But in itself that was useful. It was for someone else’s commercial venture.

JackyB Sat 09-Jan-21 08:25:40

So what was the verdict Lucca?

FarNorth Thu 07-Jan-21 21:38:28

Yuck, none. The whole idea gives me the nurds.

rafichagran Thu 07-Jan-21 21:35:05

Glass

Grannybags Thu 07-Jan-21 21:26:37

Emery board - didn't know you could get glass ones!

Steel sets my teeth on edge

Meaux Thu 07-Jan-21 20:27:07

Emery board

Gwyneth Thu 07-Jan-21 19:59:44

Emery board but the very wide ones

Jaxjacky Thu 07-Jan-21 19:55:38

I use metal nail clippers to cut, a metal file to clean and some file/buffer thingies, which are very good, I never use the buffer side!

GrannyGravy13 Thu 07-Jan-21 19:07:16

Another Leighton Denny Chrystal file fan ????

Grannynannywanny Thu 07-Jan-21 18:49:22

Is it weird to admit I’ve never used a nail file of any description? I just cut them with a pair of fine nail scissors. Nail files in my mind equate to blackboard dragging. I don’t even like watching somebody do their own ?

BlueBelle Thu 07-Jan-21 16:37:45

Never used either ( bite my nails) much cheaper ???

cornishpatsy Thu 07-Jan-21 16:36:31

Diamond, they cost about £5 and last up to 5 years without going dull.

BBbevan Thu 07-Jan-21 16:29:25

Glass

nadateturbe Thu 07-Jan-21 16:07:49

Whichever is handiest.

Hellogirl1 Thu 07-Jan-21 16:01:19

Neither, have always bitten my nails

FannyCornforth Thu 07-Jan-21 15:52:27

The Leighton Denny crystal file is the Rolls Royce of the nail file world.
I am something if a nail officianado (spconfused?)
Then I would go for an Emery board, and metal only if it was a dire emergency.

Thank you everyone that has proved useful and interesting.

gillyknits Thu 07-Jan-21 15:37:57

Emery board .

Bakingmad0203 Thu 07-Jan-21 15:32:14

Glass for me - an emery board splits my nails. However I use a steel one on my toe nails or is that TMI??
