Have you seen the new ad? Some people are outraged and worried that children will be able to see it and wonder what is going on!

Tweedle24 Mon 11-Jan-21 17:43:11

I looked the ad up online as I had not seen it. I thought it was silly and, if anything, would put me off them, if I had not tried one. Personally, I can’t stand creme eggs, even before they changed the chocolate.

Love creme eggs...part of my balanced diet?. As disco says, they are smaller. I thought there might be something different about the chocolate too....but not enough to put me off.....unfortunately! Haven’t seen the ad.

Smileless2012 Mon 11-Jan-21 17:48:29

Well I never share minegrin

avitorl Mon 11-Jan-21 17:54:39

Definitely a no for the Ad! Where is the 2 metres social distancing between the 2 men?

eazybee Mon 11-Jan-21 18:03:54

Seen one, bought one, eaten one;
not nearly as nice as they used to be.
But it is a ritual :
If Easter eggs appear (just after Boxing day)
Can Spring be far away?

they are a couple.
that's the point of the ad; you have to really love someone to share your creme egg.
i never liked them anyway. the eggs i mean. sickly stodge.
is the OP serious. i can never quite tell. a little boy across the road re weddings said, i wonder if i will marry a boy or a girl when i grow up.

welbeck Mon 11-Jan-21 18:41:51

i mean they are actually a couple in real life, would have to be, in time of pandemic.

rafichagran Mon 11-Jan-21 18:46:48

Yuck, really horrible and sickly. Advert just silly.

Oldbat1 Mon 11-Jan-21 18:49:45

Not seen advert and my teeth don’t like them. ?

Maybe advert was made pre pandemic
Can’t see what the issue is.
I don’t think children would bat an eyelid.

Urmstongran Mon 11-Jan-21 18:56:21

Perhaps I’ll buy one and try this at home.
?
No, think we’re past that ...

EllanVannin Mon 11-Jan-21 18:57:11

Share them ? You could fit a whole one in your mouth and it would still rattle around. They've shrunk.

LadyStardust Mon 11-Jan-21 19:01:53

I think the ad is sweet and it has filled every social media page I've been on over the last 24 hours. Job done Cadburys, great media marketing!

Blossoming Mon 11-Jan-21 19:09:04

Never liked them, sickly horrible things!

Urmstongran Mon 11-Jan-21 19:55:08

Their chocolate used to be nice but I agree with GagaJo it’s changed and not in a good way. Greasy best describes it now.

Desdemona Mon 11-Jan-21 20:00:31

Cadbury Cream Eggs are much smaller, harder and generally less nice than I remember them, so I no longer buy them. As for the ad, it is just to provoke a response to get in the media.

Georgesgran Mon 11-Jan-21 20:06:15

Horrible, nasty sickly things. Give me a Walnut Whip every time - are they still around?

ginny Mon 11-Jan-21 20:28:22

In answer to the original question, no thanks. Never have liked them and if the ‘chocolate’ is anything like the rest of Cadbury milk chocolate is now they must be vile.

tidyskatemum Mon 11-Jan-21 21:14:49

I haven’t touched anything from Cadbury’s since they were taken over by an American company which promised to protect the workforce and traditions but ground then underfoot the minute they got control. And I’m told they changed recipes to make the chocolate more like horrible American stuff.

EllanVannin Mon 11-Jan-21 21:40:37

'Orrible 'Ershey's chocolate. It's vile.

is that a euphemism ?
i'm so out of touch, see thread about grannies embarrassing youngsters by using naughty words...

I retched when I saw a video clip of the advert. Cadbury's chocolate is pretty revolting and even if I was in a relationship with someone I would not do what they are doing.

avitorl Tue 12-Jan-21 16:38:19

I was joking about the 2 metre distancing comment and now I have just thought of something really "naughty",Marianne Faithful and Mick Jagger have crept into my mind, sorry!

Pittcity Tue 12-Jan-21 19:24:56

Nothing wrong with the ad. But I agree that the chocolate is nowhere near as nice as it used to be.
I'm surprised that ads for sweets and chocolate are allowed at all.
