I’ve been alone for 3 years now and my weekly shop is usually between £40 to £60. I occasionally miss a week and live out of the freezer only buying fresh milk and veggies.

I really can’t help with cost as I can’t remember and now I have my GD living with me so was only on my own for a year after my H died.
What I can remember though is how difficult it was at first.
Shopping for one doesn’t mean halving what you bought before, somehow that doesn’t work.
Also it is so easy to put in the trolley just what you did before.
Obviously ready packaged meat etc is rarely for one so I got into the habit of still cooking for two but freezing one.
You will save money but I liked to treat myself to better cuts of meat occasionally and the odd ready meal which I didn’t buy before.
Good luck and enjoy eating what you like when you like.

Morning all!

I’m soon to be living on my own as my children are flying the nest! I just wondered, for those of you who live alone, how much do you spend on a weekly food shop including toiletries and cleaning stuff please?
