Cleaning chrome in shower unit

Toothpaste for silvery jewellery.
Vinegar for shower head. I use the left over brown vinegar in the homemade pickled onion jar!!!
Anti bacteria gel is ideal for getting ball point off clothes etc.
Cheap bio powder is good in steel sink plus an inch or so of water to get off bad stains. Leave for hour or so.

I dry the taps & glass screen before I get out of the shower - it stops limescale build up starting.

Toothpaste is marvellous for chrome. Rub it onto the tap or whatever, let it dry for about 10 minutes. Rinse off. Result - sparkly chrome taps!

Franbern apparently something similar can be applied on the glass door (only) of an oven- left overnight and minimal scrubbing will apparently remove the gunge. I must find out exactly what is used unless anybody knows?

A lot cheaper than using Oven Pride- other products are available.

I soak our shower heads in a jug of white vinegar occasionally, that's very effective at cleaning and descaling them. (The vinegar can be kept and reused).

Yesterday morning I suddenly noticed that the chrome in my en-suite shower unit was far more black than shiny silverish. Including the shower head itself.

Suppose as I sit on a seat in my shower I rarely actually look up. Was horrified when I saw it, and did wonder if I would need to have a whole new unit put in there.

Then I made up a sort of paste with bicarb of soda and white vinegar (did not know how much of each, just did - as I so often do in cooking - until it looked okay) and then applied this with a cleaning tool which is rather like an enlarged electric toothbrush.

To my amazement and delight, all the black came off, and when I wiped it all down all the chrome and the shower head look like new.

Ne need for expensive cleaning creams, etc.
