Foraging for fruit

That is not foraging or just being cheeky it is stealing! It might be empty BUT it belongs to someone. Think you know yourself it is wrong if you are going to sneak in by the side plus even asking the question!

I would as long as no-one sees me.

If it belongs to a family who are going to live there , tanith, I probably wouldn't but if it had been sold to a builder then I would.

No, I wouldn’t these days. One of the things I noticed when we first came to Australia is that people don’t nick each other’s fruit, oranges, lemons, peaches, figs etc go unpicked even though they hang over fences. Where we used to live in London even an apple would get taken if it was near the footpath.

They must be more honest where you live nanna8.

They have been known to come along with boxes where DD lives and nick fruit off the trees which are near the road!

I would pick some, it will only be wasted if left.

I totally agree

I do have a small patch of rhubarb but it’s not done very well this year. Thing is the family who own the house now aren’t very nice their plans for the property were blocked by neighbours protests to the council. Maybe I’ll mention in passing to my next door neighbour who I know wouldn’t hesitate for a minute to do it. ?

Oh I would too!

grandMattie Sun 02-May-21 11:12:29

I would too. Agree about digging up some of the crown.

NotSpaghetti Sun 02-May-21 11:11:47

I don't think it's actually foraging though! grin

NotSpaghetti Sun 02-May-21 11:10:55

I might...if I was sure... (and it was dark) grin

Jaxjacky Sun 02-May-21 11:03:58

Yes, I would, or dig up some too.

Two doors away is an empty house awaiting building works. I know there is a huge rhubarb patch in the back garden would you have the cheek to go in by the side gate and pick it?
Would I? Is it technically stealing?
