I would speak to your GP. It can be caused by B12 deficiency or diabetes and you may need a blood test.

I have it. It's horrible. It started at menopause and GP couldn't find a cause. It usually happens when I'm in bed. I find the only way to stop it is to get up and put my feet on ice packs then distract myself by reading or watching TV. After a few minutes it's gone and I can go to bed but I mustn't think about it or it comes back.

Is it the whole foot of just your soles and toes? I have metatarsalgia and when I walk any distance the soles of my feet and my toes burn. I have found some pads which help with it.
