Hi,
I have stumbled across a clothes company called Floryday- has anybody had any dealings with it? It has a sale on at present and there are some good bargains. Some of the items are horrendous but there are also some gems.

Each to his own I can’t afford high street prices and don’t like the average things that are around as I said I ve had my first two tunics two years so hardly throw away but each to his own I like the styles and they suit me but I m not suggesting anyone on here should use them just telling you my experiences

I'd rather not have anything from China also as I think they've given us enough grief but nearly everything is made there.

I try not to buy anything from China although it is difficult. Their human rights record is appalling as is their treatment of animals. I’ve also noticed that on some items it states made in PRC (People’s Republic of China) rather than made in China.

These ads are plastered all over Facebook ect , their clothes do look lovely and the prices appealing, but have heard many a horror story about what you think you’ve ordered and the rubbish tat you do actually receive . They are nothing more than online mail order scams and to be given a very wide birth.

Even while I’m writing this message out , Floryday has advert on GN with lovely tops at 78% off ……GN should ban these ads from their site !

Thank you. I get the word out there at every opportunity.
Another good indication is: none of the models have heads ?

ExDancer Tue 06-Jul-21 15:48:03

The clothes look lovely but they are rubbish, and it costs an arm and a leg to return them. Avoid!

Lin52 Tue 06-Jul-21 15:44:02

Was tempted, but then read bad reviews. Same with a company called Shein.

Millie22 Tue 06-Jul-21 15:35:11

Shein is another company I get loads of ads for. Basically tat.

They might be different to what we can buy on the High St bluebelle , but if they are so cheap they only last you one season then what a waste of resources and a drain on our environment.

Throwaway fashion like this should be avoided wherever possible.

The reviews for these companies are almost universally terrible anyway.

BlueBelle Tue 06-Jul-21 15:23:39

Can I just say that I buy off two of these Chinese/ European / US sites because they have really unusual (not high street) clothes that I like
The clothes are not high grade quality but they are very cheap so it doesn’t matter if you only get one season out of them and you look different to M and S wearers They come quite quickly ( 4 days was my last purchase but never longer than a week) they are well pack with a returns label and I haven’t had any trouble from them at all
The ones I have used are Newchic and Airyclothe ( they have a German and French website )
I have bought two tunics a tee shirt type top ( very pretty neck line) and a pair of light Cotten dungarees the two tunics were last summer and are still fine for this year they have washed up well

Veryuseful post Merylstreep, thank you. Apart from the rubbish quality and appalling customer service, the prices charged would indicate a good chance of slave labour being used to manufacture this stuff. I always try not to buy anything made in China, although it is very difficult. A good indicator is the delivery time; if it is around 6 weeks that is the time for a container full of crap to arrive here.

annodomini Tue 06-Jul-21 13:26:51

PS Of course I don't mean established companies like Pavers and Hotter which also pop up on FB from time to time.

Luckygirl Tue 06-Jul-21 13:23:23

Avoid - it is part of a scam involving several named clothes companies who have a huge presence on the internet. They are based in China and the quality of the goods is poor, their customer service is non-existent, returns are impossible and sometimes they just send a random unordered item.

Charleygirl5 Tue 06-Jul-21 13:19:49

I liked a pair of trousers I saw but thankfully Alexa could tell me the leg length was 35". That was the shortest and I prefer 30". I will stay well clear.

annodomini Tue 06-Jul-21 13:19:36

I wonder if the same applies to shoe companies whose adverts on Facebook show shoes that look wonderfully comfortable and are often advertised to appeal to people with foot problems. I usually hide these ads but eventually another pops up with a different name. Has anyone here been tempted by them?

MerylStreep Tue 06-Jul-21 13:06:13

Scroll down for a picture of what was ordered and what was received.

Poppyred Airy is one of the old companies.

MawBe Tue 06-Jul-21 12:55:32

No, no, no
I am told they copy the pics from other moe reputable companies ( I agree some look really nice but you then receive any old tat which you can’t get a refund on.

TrendyNannie6 Tue 06-Jul-21 12:52:34

Seen them several times advertising on here, but was told not to touch with a bargepole

Charleygirl5 Tue 06-Jul-21 12:50:03

Thank you so much- I will stay well clear of them.

Poppyred Tue 06-Jul-21 12:48:53

They are a Chinese company - very poor quality clothes and trying to return goods is a complete nightmare!

They operate under different names as well. Airy being the latest.

MerylStreep Tue 06-Jul-21 12:48:39

I gave up years ago trying to get these adds removed from GN.

MerylStreep Tue 06-Jul-21 12:46:29

I meant to add that they are all owned by one umbrella company. The head of that company is rumoured to be the richest man in China.

greenlady102 Tue 06-Jul-21 12:43:51

Is it one of the ads on here....because if so I wouldn't touch them with someone else's bargepole

MerylStreep Tue 06-Jul-21 12:43:37

Charleygirl
For some while I’ve been part of a group on FB telling the truth about these companies. I’ve been banned twice from FB because of my comments.
Stay away from them

There is a list online listing all these snide Chinese companies.
Just search them.

Blossoming Tue 06-Jul-21 12:41:15

They are a Chinese company selling cheap tatty copies of more expensive designs. The photographs in their adverts are not representative of the goods received. Their online reviews are terrible.
