We had bath taken out and a lovely walk in shower installed.
I tend to shower and wash hair every other day.
Although I like feeling fresh and doing hair I’m beginning to find the whole thing a right performance especially cleaning down the screen and floors afterwards.
Sometimes DH goes in after me so he does it then.

We have a shower every day why would anyone not. As for cleaning it twice a week our cleaner calls and does that. Our next door neighbours have a shower next to their swimming pool in the summer time they walk out into their garden and shower there.

Because in my opinion it’s totally unnecessary and not at all good for the skin

Usually twice a week to shower and once a week to wash my hair

Us too. Daily showering regardless of need is a habit and not very good for pH balance and general skin health.and hair? Shampoo once week other times use a cleansing cream fro superdrug, cleans product away but not shampoo. I have not 'washed' my face since 1976! (Oriflame remember that?) I used to use a mild toner but now miscellar water to cleanse.and- have ZERO wrinkles. I tell the truth! I'm no beauty but not having fine English rose skin when younger is sure paying dividends now! And shower clean? Use after spray every single time, have done since it appeared years ago and I literally have to calendar to do full clean as it always looks pristine!

Shower daily. Love our walk-in shower but don't find it easy to clean despite having tried most sprays, gadgets etc. Haven't used our bath for at least 3 years. I've never been keen on soaking in a bath. Lie there, the water gets cold, top up with more hot water, lie there in scum, then a tricky and inelegant clamber to get out. I will only book holiday accommodation that has a walk-in shower after once falling in a deep bath in Sicily that had no hand holds or obvious means of escape.

I have a bath 4 or 5 times a week but always rinse off in the shower afterwards. Wash my hair every 3rd day usually.
Rinse shower with hot water and open window after, never dry it down. Clean when it needs it. I use elbow grease (the yellow bottle from cheap shops)
My area has soft water so easy to clean.

Bidets are great for washing feet in. I can’t think daily showers are good for dry older skin.

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 21-Sept-21 11:06:24

I shower and wash my hair 3 times a week, DH twice a week. He has taken it on himself to clean screen after each use - the only bit of housework he does.
Can't remember when I last had a bath!!

Theoddbird Tue 21-Sept-21 11:04:17

I shower every day but only wash hair once a week. Hair does not need washing every day. I use one of those sprays for showers most days...it helps. I do give shower a good clean when it looks like it needs it.

I use a Karcher window vac - best thing I've ever bought. So simple to use for all windows, tiles, mirrors & glass topped tables Everything sparkles & is streak free.

Shower every other day, can’t be doing with having to dry my hair every day, plus skin would get even drier than it already is. A ‘proper wash’ on other days.

I don’t have to clean shower screens - it must be a right royal PITA - we have very good showers over the baths, with good old fashioned shower curtains. Should add that I do wash them now and then.

I've become lazy - although I still shower every day, I now sit down in the bath to do it so that I don't have to dry all the walls down afterwards!

I shower and wash my hair every morning. In hot weather, I shower at night as well.

Margiknot Mon 20-Sept-21 19:15:46

Every day. I too just spray the shower with Method shower spray after use, with an occasional proper clean. The shower spray stops the frosty hard water stains, so the glass does not need polishing dry. I do dry off the tap thing to keep it shiny.

Shower daily and have a bath weekly.

silverlining48 Mon 20-Sept-21 18:11:01

If I have absolutely no choice and have to shower I can’t wash my feet properly and feel frozen getting out of the steamy cubicle into the what feels like a fridge, brrr.

I can’t use glasses as they steam up so can’t see what is on the labels; have washed my hair in conditioner and my body in shampoo more than once.

Things get dropped, I have to bend down to pick up and water goes into my eyes, and wets my hair ( if I wasn’t planning to wash it). Then it goes frizzy in the steam...

I love my bath it’s so relaxing, but worry when the time comes that I can’t get out of it and visualise the embarrassment of being hauled out (by crane probably)by dh and neighbours or worse, firemen.
It doesn’t bare ( bear) thinking about. shock

MayBee70 It works really well and I whip it off when I have visitors staying ?

Shower at night, can’t bear it in the morning. As others have said, the squeegee scraper is wonderful on a wet glass screen.
As I hate cleaning it so much, I have draped a large lightweight plastic tablecover over the screen so it stays unmarked.
(Much prefer a shower curtain really).

That’s a great idea. I’m going to copy you with that as it’s DH that showers (I’m a bath person) but me that has to clean it.

Norah Mon 20-Sept-21 13:39:27

Morning and night, daily.

Chewbacca Mon 20-Sept-21 13:18:46

I've never used a shower spray either nadaterurbe, but, as you say, the type of water in an area is probably key to whether they're needed or not.

nadateturbe Mon 20-Sept-21 13:06:14

Everyone seems to use a spray every day except me. I think I'm lucky and live in a soft water area because my shower glass doesn't mark very much. Rinsing it is enough. And thorough clean once a week.

Shower every other day, bath occasionally in the winter, hair wash one or twice a week. MrJ thoroughly cleans the shower, if he’s been working it’s every day.

Blackcat3 Mon 20-Sept-21 12:10:33

Daily! And clean immediately!

NanKate Mon 20-Sept-21 12:07:03

I shower every morning and in the hot weather at night too. I wash my hair every 4 to 5 days.

DH has told me showering every day is not good for my dry skin, but I do lather up with lots of creams.

DH who is meticulous with washing has a strip wash 6 days and showers once a week. It takes him over an hour !! He always smells nice. ?

Blossoming Mon 20-Sept-21 12:05:22

What a strange question! My bathing habits are none of your business.

If what you actually want to know is how I keep the bath and shower clean, I wipe them down after use. I use a long handled squeegee thingy on the shower and a soft microfibre cloth on the bath/basin. It only takes a few minutes. All bathrooms have a full clean once a week.
