Hi all, I found this list of ingredients while sorting out my kitchen cupboard in preparation for Xmas but I have no idea what it is for but I'm sure there are some bakers out there who will! Wishing you all and your families a safe and Happy New Year ?

Possibly queen of puddings?

With the treacle and ginger I'd say gingerbread/ginger-cake

Re-reading it, I wonder if you might have been making two different cakes. I can’t think of a reason why you might have SR flour, plain flour, and bicarb in one recipe, ditto caster sugar and brown sugar, but if you split the list in two, you have a Madeira cake and a ginger cake.

Lemon and ginger drizzle cake? (some ingredients could be for a filling and topping)

I agree with geekesse it might be two recipes because you have gone back and made additions next to your original quantities. One is certainly something rather gingery.

I think this is a list of amounts needed for 2 (or even 3) recipes. There is a lemon meringue pie in there at least plus a ginger something or other. I sometimes make a list like this and if I need to shop for anything I take it with me to find out the amounts I need to get (eg how many cherries for a fruit cake etc.)

Thank you geekesse, Riverwalk, Calistemon, josieann and
singingnutty I think between us we've cracked it! Earlier in the year I invited my neighbours round for a socially distanced coffee and cake morning. I made Lemon drizzle and Ginger cakes also Shortbread biscuits. I think I must have already had some of the ingredients but my list was a reminder of the ones I still had to purchase! Thank you so much for helping me solve the mystery, I would have been awake all night trying to work it out! ?

I like a bit of a mystery ?

It sounded very gingery for one cake

It does I agree but it's a family favourite and people ask for the recipe so it must be OK!
