Just stuck my head out - gawd it's cold, bright & sunny but cold! sunshine

I'm trying to persuade myself to get dressed and run some errands but my backside will not rise from this chair.

I might have another coffee while I think things over! smile

It’s a blissful 9 degrees bright and sunny and I’m sitting outside the cafe on the prom with our dog.
Wish I’d brought my gloves though!

Wild, windy and wet in central Scotland! There's quite a bit of damage. Trains are cancelled as a tree fell on overhead cables and caught fire. There's a fence panel down between me and my next door neighbour. Fingers crossed that it doesn't get any worse.

Doesn't feel particularly cold in Oxfordshire, but it is quite windy. I woke up at 6.00, got up and made my mornin drink. By 9.00 I was up and dressed and on the way to the tip with all the cardboard packaging from a new full length kitchen unit that will become a coat cupboard, which DH has been assembling.

He is currently putting the cornice on the other kitchen units, while I start the preparations for lunch by getting the ingredients together on the work top.

I used to like seeing a line of nappies!
Haven't hung any for years nor have I seen any on a washing line for a very long time.

fulltimenana Sat 29-Jan-22 10:45:55

Yes been out this morning hanging out my grandsons nappies on the washing line ,nice and windy and dry in no time

11C here, it was sunny with high cloud, not moving much, but windy with low scudding clouds. Quite interesting.
It's now clouded over.

That’s very sweet BBbevan smile

BBbevan Sat 29-Jan-22 10:26:50

As my DH would say “Indoor play today”. Wet, cold and windy out.

Witzend Sat 29-Jan-22 10:08:04

Plenty of blue sky here (outer SW London) this morning, a sprinkling of cotton-wool type cloud, a light wind.
Thermometer outside the kitchen window says 11 deg, and that’s with no sun on it.

Yes, blowing a gale in Northumberland too MaizieD. The bin's been blown over twice.

MaizieD Sat 29-Jan-22 10:03:46

Quite warm ,and sunshine, but 50mph + winds here in Durham. I'm watching the trees surrounding us somewhat anxiously... We had two blown down by Arwen...

My mojo needs a bit of a nudge this morning - I did plan on an early river walk but somehow didn't get round to it.

But the sun has made a weak appearance and I have intentions to be out the door by noon sunshine

I went out this morning and my hands were freezing despite my woolly gloves. Usually keep my hands toasty so it must have been colder earlier today.

BBbevan Mon 24-Jan-22 14:43:03

Ever been to Northumberland though DH had an aunt who lived in Alnwick.

Been gardening this morning as it is grey and still. We have a large bramble patch at the bottom of the garden which we cleared and then burnt. Love doing the incinerator. The smoke went straight up. Beautiful. In now both of us smelling like kippers !

Another Northumberland fan here. Stunning scenery.

BlueBelle

The sea was the coldest I ve been in so far this winter it was freeeeeezing

BlueBelle deserves a special GN award.

I feel virtuous on cold days after doing a trot along the river/around the park/pounding the pavements, but it takes a very special person to get up and go out for a swim in the North Sea grin

I've just done a walk to Waitrose and back!

BBbevan Sun 23-Jan-22 12:05:53

Walked along the beach to get the papers in the village. Very overcast but not freezing.

FannyCornforth Sun 23-Jan-22 09:50:53

Oh, me too, AGA
And the scenery (swoon)
I nearly cried when I saw Bambrugh Castle for the first time.

Oldbat you don’t live in Alnmouth do you? That’s my absolute dream ♥️

AGAA4 Sun 23-Jan-22 09:39:23

Another one with Northumberland envy. The beaches there are beautiful. To be able to go there easily would be my ideal.
I haven't been out yet today but shouldn't moan as I have lovely countryside on my doorstep here.

DillPickles Sun 23-Jan-22 09:35:54

Nothing better than crisp, cool air. Gets the blood pumping!

Riverwalk

Gloriously sunny but oh so cold when the wind whipped up - the BBC weather always says 'gentle breeze'!

I'm envious of those living near the Northumberland beaches - after watching Vera on Sunday. smile

Ten minute drive for me. Went to the beach on Tuesday. It was stunning. Had the whole beach to myself.

Stunning indeed Gaga - I'm even more envious!

grandtanteJE65 Sat 22-Jan-22 12:40:50

It's +6 C here today, yesterday it was +4 and the day before that minus 2, so anyone's guess what tomorrow will bring.

Just back from a lovely sunny walk. Uphill most of the way so good exercise. Feel that I have earned my coffee today.
