My casting call for naked TV programme.

Following on from the Naked Bike Ride thread, today I received an email casting call from Lost in TV for a programme called Naked Education.
They want to hear from me if I am “interested in releasing myself from the shackles of negative body image.”
Apparently participating in the programme will be a “liberating experience”

So fellow gransnetters, should I go for it?

P.S. I’m 73 and overweight.

Before Covid, I worked as an extra and enjoyed it. Hoping to get back in the saddle. I say give it a go. It pays well and I was so happy to see myself on the big screen in an acting part and to take part in a be in a Bollywood movie filmed in a London park.

Definitely. Let people see what “normal” bodies look like, not air brushed, cosmetically altered, unrealistic and mythical perfect bodies.
But may be you are that perfect body Esspee ? in which case don’t do it and show the rest of us up!

Agree with Blue Sky! Far too much of that already, and to what end? I think it's part of the general effort to lower the morals, as well as the morale, of people. Even the most unredeeming ideas seem plausible nowadays. Part of the plan by elites to keep people distracted from the real things that are going on around them. Not for me, thanks.

You have disappointed me Callistemon.. I was hoping for a racier explanation.

?
Sorry, I'll try harder next time.
Now, what's this programme about releasing myself from the shackles of negative body image?
I might apply.

How much are they paying Espee? Can you live the rest of your life in luxury, if so go ahead no one will remember you with clothes on anyway. Me I don’t look in the mirror naked now.

My first thought was that you had been invited to the tv show Naked Attraction....shock

Judging by my brief attention to the program I am certain that those on it have first to apply and then be selected/invited. The motives of those appearing must contain elements of daring and exhibitionism. The aim is to arrange a date in which one person selects a possible date based purely on physical attributes. The person choosing remains clothed for the selection process at the end of which they are laid bare as well.

Exdancer I have never appeared or applied to appear in any TV programme. The Glasgow grans will confirm I am camera shy. I prefer taking the photos.

Callistemon 17:04:47 ?. 21:46:58. Tell us more!

We were waiting in the car for a long time whilst they filmed a scene (more than once).
I was behind the wheel, fully clothed, looking exasperated. When I realised they were filming I plastered a happy smile on my face ?
They probably cut my starring scene!

To Dilly the gardener............I successfully removed a seborrheric patch on my bust with cider vinegar. Protect the surrounding skin with a moisturiser painted around the offender , then put a plaster over the crusty having wetted the centre with cider vinegar. Apply twice a day. Be patient....may take a few day....but it works !! Goodbye crusty !!

a programme called Naked Education
Is this a follow-on from Sex Education? A surprising lockdown hit (you might catch glimpse of me fully clothed ?)

Re seborrheic keratoses, the ones I got in profusion on my neck just a week or so before my daughter's wedding I treated like lambs tails to be docked; I squeezed and twisted them to remove their blood supply and they dried out and dropped off. Some are more trickily positioned that I don't think I can do this to... Another bone to pick with whatever invented us all haha

Google 'British Naturism'. It makes for interesting reading and you might decide to try it.

This sounds fabulous we are all beautiful!! Hopefully next generation will realise this and stop worrying about it! You must do it and send link to us when it’ll be on, you go girl!! Xxx

Cindersdad Sat 11-Jun-22 18:48:17

I used to go to naturist beaches and really enjoyed the sense of freedom. However to go on TV or even just be photographed is something completely different. I'm 78 and would not appear naked on TV, not that anyone would want to see me! The TV program on E4 "Naked Attraction" which show supposedly young attractive bodies is decidedly awful!

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 11-Jun-22 17:07:47

I would be asking myself the same question Espee. Probably no more sinister than the unsolicited catalogues which arrive, though, and they know no more about you than senders of said catalogues (one of whom always addresses me as Mr. They're bound to get my business aren't they?).

Callistemon21 Sat 11-Jun-22 17:05:08

Callistemon21 Sat 11-Jun-22 17:04:47

What concerns me is why the invitation was sent to me, an overweight 73 year old, using my first name. I don’t doubt they sent out thousands of invitations but what kind of mailing list is my name and email address on?
Were too polite to speculate! ?

AreWeThereYet Sat 11-Jun-22 16:43:56

Espee It may well be they didn't know anything about you when they mailed you. Your name and email may have been sold on a list (from a shop possibly, or almost any online organisation you are in contact with will have your email and name). They may have emailed a thousand people off that list.

ExDancer Sat 11-Jun-22 16:23:54

I didn't like to ask, but did wonder why you'd been 'chosen' and I also wondered how many other people had been contacted.
Can you remember ever answering some advert for extras or volunteering for crowd scenes perhaps?

Greciangirl Sat 11-Jun-22 16:08:11

No. Not a good idea.

Esspee Sat 11-Jun-22 15:19:36

My question about whether I should go for it was meant to be taken humorously. Germanshepherdsmum got the tone perfectly.

Anyway, there is still time for those of you braver than me to apply. ?
