I was booked to go on Wednesday, desperately want to see it, but I think I'm starting covid. Plus I've had to lie on top of the boney dog all night and haven't slept a wink. (He had his bits chopped off yesterday and is such a contortionist he is able to lick the wound even with a lampshade buster collar on.)
I'll have to try another way to see it.

I remember seeing this film when Angela Lansbury and Omar Sharif where the stars. This is a third remake of the film . Don't know who starred in the original.

I don't go to the pictures hopefully it will be on TV in a couple of years.

Other feel good films are Shirley Valentine,Mrs Callicot's cabbage wars and Educating Rita.

Agree a bit of fluff, but left with feel good factor.Reading review thought it a good choice for friend suffering age related dementia. I was right she loved it, not much of a storyline to follow but the era and humour made us laugh.Very lighthearted and enjoyable.
Unfortunately the cinema was freezing hope it was a one off and not due to energy crisis as we will have to wear scarf, gloves etc for future visits.I did complain as we were leaving .

I've just seen it. It wasn't demanding but enjoyable. I would have watched it for the frocks alone. Some beautiful creations. I like Lesley Manville and Isabelle Huppert as actors.

My friend and I went this afternoon... yes, it is fluff but very enjoyable. Lots of cliches with British & French stereotypes including a tin of Spam and winos in berets!

All good fun at my local Everyman where they bring the wine to your sofa smile wine

Snap! I saw it at the Liverpool everyman on Saturday.... I like Lesley manville ...very versatile actress

Saw the trailer for it when we went to see a film last week. It looks amusing and an easy watch. Love Lesley Manville.

Going to see it tomorrow with a friend. There was a video. about the making of the replica dresses/gowns, on a sewing site I am on. It looks like just the 'harmless piece of fluff' you mention. It is the third film of the book to be made so it must have something worth watching.

Yes, I saw it last week. I enjoyed it, it’s quite uplifting to see her following her dreams.

Has anyone seen this film?

From what I've read it's a harmless piece of fluff, which could be just what we need!
