Prize details are available on line today if anyone interested. Hubby and I have both won this month, small amount, but nice.

Nandalot Wed 02-Nov-22 15:31:29

Won, of course, in the first line!

Patsy70 Wed 02-Nov-22 15:39:57

My OH has won £50 this month. Since I was a child, I have the grand sum of £11 in bonds and, unsurprisingly, have never won a thing! Congratulations to the winners.

Rosie51 Wed 02-Nov-22 16:00:59

I've just been googling and it seems the chance of any individual bond winning has reduced over the last few months from 1 in 34,500 to 1 in 24,000. Still big odds to beat but a great improvement. I wonder if that is why some of us are having a bit more success? Of course we'll probably now have months without so much as a sniff of a prize grin

No they don't get in touch with you if you win.

Thank you Katey - because of you I just checked to see to see if I had been lucky and I have! £75!! smile

I don't know where my brain is today - yes they do get in touch with you!!

We have never one! Admittedly only a small holding for both of us. Out of interest I looked at the winners this month and it seems like you have to hold ten, twenty or more thousand to win! I found only one winner holding £750 and one at £1000.

My son had a small legacy of £1000 and bought premium bonds whilst at university so as not to spend it! Within a year he was lucky enough to win £5,000 his only win! Can’t happen often tho.

Kate1949 Wed 02-Nov-22 16:19:19

Most of the nig winners have the maximum £50,000 holding. However, I'm more than happy with what we've had. We'd ever have got that in interest.

Aveline Wed 02-Nov-22 16:21:19

Just tried to check. However, they couldn't verify that I am who I say I am as they were checking re my credit card. I don't owe a bean. My credit record is clear so apparently I don't exist. ☹️

Jaxjacky Wed 02-Nov-22 16:39:39

That’s odd Aveline and rings warning bells. Are you registered with NS&I?

I won £75 this month.

AGAA4 Wed 02-Nov-22 16:49:14

I have won £50 this month. I won £5000 a few years ago so can't complain.l

Fleurpepper Wed 02-Nov-22 17:10:07

What happens if you win and don't check?

annsixty Wed 02-Nov-22 17:19:46

It either goes into the bank account you have nominated or you receive a bank draft to pay in to your bank.
You never have to claim your winnings.

Auntieflo Wed 02-Nov-22 17:26:10

Thanks KateyK. I have won £75.00 this month.
I don't usually check until about the 4th of the month.
Now, what do I want??

They definitely do

kittylester Wed 02-Nov-22 18:44:05

DH and I have won £75. We seem to win every month but never a big amount.

Kim19 Wed 02-Nov-22 19:08:16

I just receive cheques in the post around the 15th of each month.

harrigran Thu 03-Nov-22 08:54:19

I won £50 this month, I usually average about six to eight hundred pounds a year and I don't have the maximum holding.
The onus is on you to check your holder's number to find out if you have won anything. Cheques usually arrive around the 15th of the month if you do not reinvest.

There’s an article on the BBC site today about unclaimed prizes. The problem seems to be people not updating their contact details, some not even knowing they have bonds that were bought for them as children.

I have Alexa set up to announce my wins. She made an unnecessarily dramatic hoo-hah today about my £25. grin

DanniRae Thu 03-Nov-22 09:15:49

Maggiemaybe - I hope you told Alexa to tone it down a bit next time you win £25!! grin

JenniferEccles Thu 03-Nov-22 10:08:14

I’m also delighted to have won this month as well as last!
I had read that N.S and I has increased the chances of winning small amounts from last month.
Also of course two lucky people each month have a visit from who they call ‘Agent Million’ to deliver their million pound cheque. Imagine how they feel!

Anyway back in the real world I was more than happy with my hundred pounds win last month and again this month.

Doodledog Thu 03-Nov-22 10:27:22

Does the Agent Million thing still happen? I remember reading about it in the Readers' Digest when I was in a dentist's waiting room as a child, and thinking it would be an amazing job.

Now I'm less sure about it. What about the right to privacy? What if someone wins, and the £1m is her chance to escape her abusive husband, but he answers the door to Agent Million? Or if the winner's drug-addicted son is in the room when the news is broken, and insists on 'his share' of the winnings? There are so many possibly disastrous outcomes. I don't do lotteries (other than PBs) very often, but would never do the Postcode Lottery because the lack of privacy puts me off.

Sorry - I'm digressing grin. Congratulations to this month's winners!

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 03-Nov-22 10:35:05

I won £25 this month and my daughter won £100. She always ploughs her winnings back into PBs, whilst I buy something special!

midgey Thu 03-Nov-22 10:35:20

Referring to my previous post - I lied! I have won £25!
I received the email this morning.

I wouldn’t dare, DanniRae. grin DH upset her once and she gave him a “fart noise”, then asked if he’d like another….

I think that this means the chances of winning have improved!

Doodledog Thu 03-Nov-22 14:36:12

They have improved, which is the way NS&I respond to increases in interest rates. They will probably improve again after today’s announcement.
