No snow here yet in South Devon but I know parts of North Devon has it and read Manchester Airport closed due to the white stuff. I love it, so do our dogs, and hope we get some soon.

Absolutely freezing here all day today - just outside Edinburgh, and we had some snow. It was so cold that my daft dog actually broke some ice to go swimming in the burn. Temperature in the house is 12 degrees.

We are on the south coast. No snow but thick frost and bitterly cold. We won’t go out unless it’s essential and definitely not at night. Dangerous conditions I think.

I saw the footage of Manchester Airport where loads of planes were unable to move. The snow appeared to be the depth of the dusting of icing sugar on a Victoria sponge.

It's not the snow that's the problem though, is it? It's the ice.

I once drove off to work on a chilly, frosty morning in the dark and ended up in a ditch because I couldn't see the black ice.

i should add that we have had thick frost for about 3 days prior to the snow

I am very near the airport and it was only a dusting early this morning. Not proper snow by any means. No more so far today

No snow in Boston Lincs as yet, hopefully there won`t be any.

🤣
Yup that’s how it is here, a few snowflakes land and the country seizes up.

Light snow in Liverpool. Not much.

Aveline Sat 10-Dec-22 17:19:27

As long as we're cosy inside, have lots of provisions in and we don't have to go out I don't mind if it snows.

AreWeThereYet and Chestnut There is no such thing as perfect snow . Allowable would be I hours worth , take a picture and then it melts away.

Oh don't be a spoilsport! The children would love my little scenario and it's only for two days at the weekend.

The only thing that could be better is for it to snow heavily Christmas Eve all morning and then to melt completely away Boxing Night. 😁

Non in my bit of Oxfordshire. Much too cold to snow I'd say.
I'm going to a Silver band and Carol Concert this evening, but not looking forward to going out in the cold.

Was snowing early in Manchester today. Our family from Australia will be with us from tommorow. The 2 youngest are excited as they haven't seen it before. Hope it doesn't thaw too much!

There's been plenty here for a couple of days in the North East (Aberdeen to Inverness area, not Newcastle!) but the roads have been cleared. Think it's melting a bit today, so I hope it doesn't freeze overnight. ☃️

No snow in my part of Northamptonshire but thick frost has persisted all day.

Tessyo Sat 10-Dec-22 16:13:01

None as yet in West Yorkshire, Huddersfield way. Happy to get a light dusting for effect, but nothing more!

tidyskatemum Sat 10-Dec-22 16:12:00

No snow but sheet ice on our street in the west of Scotland. So we’re not going anywhere! The gritter has cleared the main road but you could do a Torvil and Dean impersonation outside our house.

Patsy70 Sat 10-Dec-22 16:09:15

No snow in West Kent, but -2 degrees and thick frost all day. Brrrr

The perfect snow is:
1/ Friday - snowfall overnight
2/ Saturday - wake up to heavy snow. The children can build a snowman and go sledging. ⛄
3/ Sunday - snowmen still there when they wake up. Another day of fun in the snow.🎿
4/ Monday - temperature rise overnight. Snow completely gone so everyone can go to work and there's no slush on the roads! 🚗

😆😆 Perfect 😆

I live just a few miles from Manchester airport and can confirm it was a very light dusting which has now mostly thawed

As described - south Manchester 2 miles from city center.

MrsKen33 Sat 10-Dec-22 15:38:20

No snow here in SW Wales, but very cold and frosty. DD ,only 20 minutes away, but higher up, woke up to snow. But it has gone now.

Greyduster Sat 10-Dec-22 15:31:22

We had a bit of a flurry in South Yorkshire around lunch time but it didn’t last long. My DD lives in a different part of the city and they had a light covering apparently. They are on the western edge of the city where it morphs into the Peak District and are always “first and worst” when it hits.

lixy Sat 10-Dec-22 15:03:15

Thick frost but no snow here in Bedfordshire, and really hoping that we don't have any as I have to drive early in the morning.
Snow shovel is out ready on the grounds that if I'm prepared it won't happen!

Cressy Sat 10-Dec-22 14:49:25

Currently snowing again in Cheshire. Thicker than this morning so we could be sledging tomorrow.
