I have a Dualit toaster and you can get special metal sandwich holders to make toasted sandwiches with. It’s better than the Lakeland bags but the bags are good - you get 2 in a pack and they are good for about 500 toastings.

Toasties bags

I always used to have a toasted sandwich maker but hated the cleanup

Toasties bags are life changing

I loved my sandwich toaster. I could easily eat them daily. Got lost in one of my moves and I won't buy another because... all of those carbs!

The toaster bags are excellent easy to use and washable.

I got some Toastie bags from Lakeland. Make a sandwich pop into bag and put it in the toaster.

Got mine from B&M - what a revelation?!! So easy to make a butty and toast in the toaster. Reusable bags - good for 40-50 uses.
Way cheaper than buying a sandwich maker!!

Mine was a nightmare to clean too. I gave it away and make them in the air fryer now (with a metal grid on top of the sandwich to keep it together). The GC's favourite ones are cheese and apple! They take five minutes to cook.

They are reusable.

Do you have an air fryer? You may get more use out of that than another sandwich toaster. I had one many years ago, had problems cleaning it so quickly got rid of it. I have a feeling it may be a repeat performance if you buy another. Also how often do you have a craving for such a sandwich?

today I craved a cheese and onion toasted sandwich so made one in the frying pan.
It was good, but took ages.
Now I am pondering whether to buy a proper toasted sandwich maker. I had one years ago which was almost impossible to clean, even though it was smooth inside.
Does anyone have one of these machines which they could recommend please ?TIA
