I am, although been up for three hours!

I have errands to run and it's a balmy 4C outside so really should be up and out but I can't get going - might have another coffee instead cafe

Yes, and feeling guilty. Not usually. I've bought new pillows and we have both slept late.DD often face times and I'll get caught. We have two bathrooms but both still use the ensuite I'm thinking of moving to the other as I tend to go second. To ease my conscience, I have planned what today's bag will contain, all the discarded pillows. So a day of rest. Tomorrow I'm sorting unused kitchen implements whilst I cook.blush

The trusty dressing gown goes on once I'm awake - at no specific time - and I've been for my first "bathroom break" of the morning. I then go back to bed while Mr. G makes our morning tea (he's in his dressing gown too) and then we have a companionable hour or so of reading, chatting and laughing before our ablutions and dressing; I don't spend "downstairs" time in my dressing gown though.

I like the sound of that robe, Georgesgran, might be just the thing for evening tv watching/general relaxing.

At only 9.33? Amateur!

I often speak to my Swedish friend (in Stockholm) at 10.30 or even later - we’re frequently both still in our dressing gowns - and Swedish time is an hour later!

Not today. at the end of last year, I replaced my traditional dressing gown with a full length long zipped up robe [Amazon] which I tend to wear most of the day, unless I am going out. It’s very warm and I feel more than presentable in it, and have no problem going out to the bin or taking in parcels wearing it. I’m planning to get another in a different colour.

I’m just sat here in my dressing gown with my first cuppa of the day , mornings are always at my worst as it takes ages for my painkiller medication to take effect , but then once motivated I’ll shower & dress as be going out this afternoon to see my granddaughters .

Cabbie21 Sat 28-Jan-23 10:33:11

No way. I never use mine. Dressed as soon as I get up.
Lots to do today and I need to pace myself with short breaks so I must get on to the next task.

I wish…

GC staying this weekend (3&5) up at 7, have made a Lego Friends beach shack complete with shower and loo. Fed them, bubble bath, colouring, and washed pj’s and the clothes they wore yesterday. Grandpa is now on Lego duty and I have sneaked 10 minutes with 3yr old on sofa with a latte and a Lego Friends film.

Tomorrow I shall be in my pj’s as long as I like 🤣🤣🤣

No, from bed into the shower, then dressed, I don’t know why I own one really.

Same here.

The noble dressing gown is known as Welsh national dress in my family!

No, I’ve just come back from an hour or so walk. Now tidying and getting the porridge before hopefully going out into the garden.

I too would normally be back from an hour's walk by 09.30 but my walking buddy is away and although I do often walk on my own lately have been letting standards slip!

I blame the weather smile

Been awake since 4,30ish.
Went down stairs at 8,made a cup of tea went back to bed with the tea and the laptop,to stay warm,i am just about to get up after finishing my second cuppa.
Can`t see the point in heating down stairs when the beds nice and warm.

I am in my dressing gown substitute (large long cardigan) - I have streaming cold and sore throat and just can't muster the energy to get washed and dressed.

I have two dressing gowns but rarely wear them. I can be lazy in the morning if I’ve nothing to do but just stay in bed a little longer so I’m always dressed before I go downstairs.

Lovely slow morning in my “jimmys”.
We had a full day in York yesterday, shopping, lunching and walking the castle walls.
I slept so well😀

ShazzaKanazza Sat 28-Jan-23 10:10:28

I’m still in my night wear though it’s leggings and a zip up hoodie. I just said to hubby I’ll have another cuppa and then I’ll get dressed.

dragonfly46 Sat 28-Jan-23 10:09:36

No I have to sit up in bed for an hour each morning as I have to sit upright after taking medicine. After that I go straight in the shower then get dressed.
I do put my dressing gown on after dinner sometimes though on dark cold nights in the winter.

Ailidh Sat 28-Jan-23 10:06:35

No, don't possess one. I'm up at 05:30 and get dressed to take the dogs to a lamp post (no private garden). By 08:00 they and I are breakfasted and out for a proper walk, I having also showered, properly dressed and got my make up on.

I need structure, it works for me.

Auntieflo Sat 28-Jan-23 10:01:09

Oh I am so glad that I am not the only one.

Greenfinch Sat 28-Jan-23 09:58:15

Yes. I have to get dressed at 7am on week days to see granddaughter onto her school coach at 7.30 and so weekends are a luxury and I stay in my dressing gown until after a late breakfast.

Wyllow3 Sat 28-Jan-23 09:56:37

Indeed, especially in the company of M Gamache, preferably in the Bistro in Three Pines...

I’ll have some of what you’re on please WWM !!

Actually a couple of years back I would still be in my dressing gown, but DH and I have changed our routine. I’m a lark and DH an owl - so it is far easier for me to take the dog out first thing, and then start my day.

I’m sitting just about to read the paper with coffee. Breakfast will be when DH surfaces.

MawtheMerrier Sat 28-Jan-23 09:51:19

Likewise - tea just before 8, back to bed to read the paper, now coffee and my latest Inspector Gamache .
And why not? 🤔😀
