It seems strange to me , something I would never do. However I can understand how you want to celebrate your daughter being a mother , not sure that is your job though!

Odd - unless she's a single mum with no partner to choose a gift from baby.

Good point Hetty

I really only want my children (if anyone) to think of me on mothers day.
I would not have liked it if my parents had wanted to be "in" on that.

My mother, however, would have been treated to something from me. That seems to me to be the point of the day.

Obviously some people think differently.

A very close and old friend (male) sends me a message on mother day saying happy Mother’s Day and I send the same to him on Father’s Day. It means a lot to me and it doesn’t matter what other people think.

Odd and as you say, she is not your mother.

We give our daughters MD gifts every year, they are mums.

I do find it a bit odd .
I give Mother's day gifts to DMiL and DM and to DGMiL when she was alive
I think that's enough mothers

It's their turn to treat you

Am I odd in wanting to mark my daughters first Mother’s Day? If no

Hi
It is my daughters first Mother’s Day and I would like to mark this special occasion. Is this odd ? (She is not my mother!)
