Is it more or are any other gransnetters not getting letter from DWP.?
My DH received letter re winter fuel and recently about state pension increase.
I received neither.
I am hesitant to phone, past experience trying to get pension originally was a nightmare.
Briefly, didn't get the invitation to apply, couldn't get verified on line and paper application got lost. Aghhh

I’ve only had a text message telling me they re processing my pension application and they ll be sending me a letter. I applied in December, plenty of time to get a flipping letter out and process it, the text said not to contact them. Having waited an extra 6 years for my state pension I d really rather like it when it’s due, thank you DWP which was when I turned 66 !!

I suspect that these general information letters are sent out alphabetically. MrP's surname is way up the alphabet compared to mine, he has received his letter informing bout the increase in the state pension but I have had nothing as yet.

It was the same with the winter fuel payments - his letter arrived around three weeks before mine.

DWP is a nightmare. I live in France, been trying to get info about my UK pension for 18 months. They don't reply to emails and don't seem to have a clue what I'm talking about when I phone (when I can actually get someone on the line).

I had a real hassle receiving my winter fuel allowance. It eventually arrived last week. They insist on phoning them (or actually sending a letter by snail mail.
I have this problem most years.
I did use snail mail one year but never did receive a reply.
This year I received notification that I would receive £250 but nothing arrived.
In the end it took several attempts at emailing them and going through the complaints procedure. Eventually I relented and phoned. Was put on hold and finally put through to the right “department” which I suspect was the employee’s home as I could clearly hear a dog barking in the background. After a really long friendly conversation I was informed that all would be sorted out. She even gave me a date that the money would reach my account.
It didn’t happen. Forty minutes of my life I’ll ever get back.
Had to phone all over again. This time it arrived. Just in time for spring.

you obviously are not aware of the WASPI campaign ..we have been fighting for over 7 years for maladministration by the DWP

i havent hadd a letter yet but did get one about the winter fuel allowance

It could depend on which Retirement Pension you get. OH gets the ‘old’ one and I get the new and what letter your NI number ends in (‘A’s go first etc). Then of course there’s the volume of letters for Royal Mail to deliver……. I’m not worried about the letter. It’s easy enough to add 10.1% to the ‘new’ pension. As long as the cash arrives it’s fine.

Husband had his increase letter about a month ago - surname begins with C but they might also use NI number to send out - who knows

We received our winter fuel letters in November and the money was in our account a week later

nomoreusernames Fri 17-Mar-23 12:46:00

I had mine a few weeks ago.Maybe it's decided by the last 2 number digits on NI number as these numbers determine the day of payment.Mine is 47 and I get paid on a wed.

Letter about Council tax, water rates last week. Pension and tax letter yesterday. Like others the increase in charges outweigh the increase in pension.

Saggi Fri 17-Mar-23 14:22:02

I had my letter about the increase (10.5%) two weeks back… my husband hasn’t had his🤷🏻‍♀️

Saggi Fri 17-Mar-23 14:23:57

Sorry to get hope up …..it’s 10.1% !!

Had my letter a few weeks ago but it quoted an incorrect starting figure, different to other statements so have written to query. Tried to phone first but gave up after hanging on for at least 45 mins.

I have had a letter last week asking me to apply for my state pension which I am eligible for in July. I did this online and found it very straight forward.

It had the old weekly pension amount on it. It didn't mention the increase due in April - which seemed a bit odd as it was already known about.

Four month away from State Pension. How long before birthday do you actually get an invite to claim your pension?

Helenlouise3 Fri 17-Mar-23 14:34:15

Hubby hasn't had the letter about the state pension yet. Surname T. How much is the increase please?

Your confirmation letter will give the increased rate. We've both done this recently.

I have been trying to get a pension forecast for days. Website wouldn't let me get one on there because I don't have a driver's license or passport or other things they ask for. Tried phoning the last 3 days at different times and get to the department and it cuts off. So have now had to send a letter . Because of a Neurological condition my hands shake writing is very difficult took me a hour to write the letter. Hopefully they will reply.

I don't get my state pension until next year but it's been years since I had a forecast and I need to know how to claim any of my late husband's contributions. He died in 2004 aged 47 but had paid 30 years NI.
