Some insurance companies have higher premiums if your house is left empty.

As for money for old rope. Some sitters get paid.
It's a responsibility looking after animals.

A rich friend seems happy to use them when she is away.

It seems like money for old rope, just staying in the lovely house and serving up the cat's dinner twice a day. She says she never gets the same person twice, so there's always that element of unease.

Her dog goes into kennels.

A friend uses them often and it always works well.
She's about to go away for a month and the same person is sitting. I think it's a way of life for some people.
The house and the cat are looked after and the garden watered.

Cousins of mine from NZ were Animal Aunts for years. They would come to the UK for a 6 months, see her family and their DS, arrange a few house sits but leave time to visit Europe and me!.

I regularly use The HomeService. Based in Suffolk but have carefully selected and vetted sitters in many parts of the UK.

They are a similar company who I would gladly recommend. I have so much peace of mind when I am away that my cat is being well looked after and my home isn’t empty.

A neighbour uses them. She has webcam security in her house which she can see on her phone. The cameras are not in the bathrooms or bedrooms so she does not feel the need to inform the sitters that the cameras are there. As far as I know, the sitters have never done anything wrong but I would not like to be unknowingly watched.

If you ask if there are cameras it sounds a bit off and if you do not ask you could be unknowingly watched.

As an owner, when living in Spain. Loads of applications from sitters, all of whom had long lists of demands, despite the conditions of the sit being well laid out in the advert.

I gave up in the end.

Wouldn't mind house sitting myself. Have done it for friends and it made a nice inexpensive break in a different area.

I have heard of them and they are excellent apparently. Good idea to read the reviews.

I have heard of them and am thinking of registering to do some house sits.
They seem to have a good reputation.

As the title asks... has anyone heard of, used Trusted Housesitters.. either as a house owner or as a sitter?
Have recently come across them. I understand there are a few similar companies offering the same service...
