We use our George Foreman and it works a treat. In fact that's what we had for lunch today - a baguette from yesterday's lunch which was going stale. Once toasted it was delicious.

I've got one and like you love toasted sandwiches.
I would suggest a deep one if you want to put things in it like beans.
I can only get grated cheese and slices of tomato in mine but that what I like.
You can buy them at supermarkets.
Here's an example at Argos. Salter EK2017 XL Deep Fill 2 Slice Sandwich Toaster - Black112/4026
It's got 5 star ratings. If you look at the picture it has lines. I think they all do and the edges seal.
When you butter the bread you have to put the buttered sides against the metal. if you don't it will stick. Like an inside out sandwich.
Like you, I've scalded my mouth so don't be too eager.

I use my George Foreman grill too. Sometimes I just butter the outside of the bread and put them in the frying pan, you get a superb cheese toasties that way.

We gave one to our son when he started university and he loved it.
From memory it was a Breville one that did sandwiches and paninis. Around £30 I think.

It would be better to look at the ratings on Amazon as there will be many more reviews and all available sandwich makers will be there.

Haven’t had a sandwich maker since the original Breville in the 70s. I have ‘fond’ memories of the concoctions we made back then complete with scalded lips on boiling hot beans and cheese, but I’m not looking for a big fat sarnie like they made. I like those ‘pressed’ type sandwiches you get out with the lines on, would that be a panini maker rather than the toasted sandwich type? Anybody got one they’d recommend please? Easy to clean would be preferable. Thanks in advance.
