Actually, I don't even mind that!
I really only keep in touch with people I care about, so an happy to celebrate their good times!
I know those 'show off round robins' got a bad press, but I don't really know anyone who did that. One of DH's ex-colleagues was a bit like that, but they dropped us from their list some years ago!

I like e-cards as an addition to real cards but if it is a choice between the two then real ones win every time.

I think e-cards have their uses - if you've forgotten a birthday or if you know the recipient is away from home but can open emails, for example.

However, there's nothing like a proper card that you can touch and keep (until next year). E-cards don't look very decorative either!!

Though I’ve just checked the site and they’re £4 each now even if you buy 10, so it’s probably cheaper to send a normal greetings card by post.

Each to their own, but I’m afraid I don’t like e-cards either - I sent a few when I first discovered JL a long time ago, but the novelty soon wore off.

I do like her advent calendars though. There are jigsaw puzzles, bauble smashing and matching games, and “decorate the cake/tree/room” activities behind some of the dates, and once you have them you have them forever. My DGS have all enjoyed some of the activities over the years, so the three I bought were good value. The more you buy, the cheaper they are.

I hate e-cards
I ll continue sending ordinary cards if I don’t get them it ll be sad but I don’t want any e-cards of anyone

I will be sending cards as usual even though the postage now is dearer than the cards! Such a shame to cut back but the amount I send have dwindled now. I like to look at my address book and remember the old school friends, past neighbours, cousins who live abroad etc

I much prefer a card but also happy with a chatty email with photos maybe.
I send cards usually charity ones and see it as my way of supporting the post office.

Same here.
I always think a real card is better, or a nice email and photo.
The JL ecards are awful.

I do both, so thanks for the other suggestions Notspaghetti and Choughdancer.
I like Moonpig because you can personalise the cards with names, photographs and text, but they aren’t an inexpensive choice.
Nannarose I know what you mean about the expense increasing. I buy a few stamps every month so Christmas isn’t such a burden but 2nd class from 75p and 1st class from £1.10 and international from £2.20 is a lot, if you unless you only send a few cards.
It’s even worse if the cards you’ve chosen (at no little expense) are not standard so the actual cost really is from those prices.

We've had nice cards sent to us via Moonpig. I think they do ecards as well.

I've ordered actual cards through the Australian site and one took a month to arrive! Another was three weeks so arrived after the birthday.

I dislike e-cards as well. I still send and receive traditional cards and will continue to do so. It gives me a lot of pleasure looking at the cards over the Christmas period and knowing my friends & family care enough to send them.
There are pros and cons to the concerns expressed here.

We stopped sending cards long ago (environmental concerns - and expensive too) then went through a phase of e-cards. Now, we just send a text or email with maybe a favourite photo attached. It's the thought that counts. I do like the charity idea, though, as it's not a waste of time and effort, with funds going where they're needed.

Not really an answer to your question, but I dislike e-cards. I would much prefer to get a short, newsy e-mail or WhatsApp message, maybe with a few photos attached.
